Yes, by YTL Communications, together with HONOR Malaysia, has announced a joint contribution valued at RM40,000 aimed at strengthening the digital capabilities of Hospis Malaysia, one of the country’s leading providers of community-based palliative care. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to supporting frontline healthcare teams through practical and meaningful technology.
Under this Corporate Social Responsibility effort, Yes is providing free 5G connectivity with uncapped data and speed, while HONOR is contributing 20 units of the HONOR Pad 10 5G. This combination equips Hospis Malaysia’s multidisciplinary palliative care team, which includes doctors, nurses, pharmacists and rehabilitation therapists, with the tools needed to stay connected during home visits, remote consultations and coordinated care planning.
Hospis Malaysia’s teams conduct extensive home visits each month to support patients living with life-limiting illnesses. With dependable 5G connectivity and modern tablet devices, clinicians can now share patient updates in real time, make faster clinical decisions and deliver timely, compassionate care across homes and communities. Improved connectivity also supports smoother coordination among team members who often work across different locations.
Wing K. Lee, Chief Executive Officer of YTL Communications, highlighted the importance of connectivity in frontline healthcare. He shared that Yes believes strong and reliable connectivity is a key enabler for healthcare delivery. By equipping Hospis Malaysia’s teams with free 5G access without data or speed limits, the company hopes to make home visits more efficient, information sharing faster and care decisions better informed. He added that Yes is honoured to support Hospis Malaysia’s mission of delivering dignified and patient-centred care to Malaysian families.
The HONOR Pad 10 5G was selected for its suitability in healthcare settings. It features a bright display with eye-comfort technology, smooth performance, long battery life and AI writing tools. These features support healthcare professionals in reviewing patient information, documenting clinical notes while on the move and managing visits more efficiently. When paired with Yes’ high-speed 5G network, the devices create a seamless digital workflow that supports clinicians in the field.
With the recent nationwide activation of 5G Advanced by Yes, the HONOR Pad 10 5G tablets are also set to receive a firmware over-the-air update in the first quarter of 2026. This update will enable full support for the latest pre-6G technology, ensuring that the devices remain future-ready as digital healthcare capabilities continue to evolve.
Justin Li, President of HONOR South Pacific, expressed pride in supporting the initiative. He noted that HONOR hopes its devices will enhance Hospis Malaysia’s daily operations, especially as doctors, nurses and allied health professionals continue to serve communities with dedication. As a global leader in AI-driven device ecosystems, HONOR remains committed to redefining human-device interaction and building a value-sharing digital ecosystem, with this collaboration representing a meaningful step towards improving the efficiency and quality of care.
Powered by Yes’ nationwide 5G network, the devices enable clinicians to access patient records quickly, document updates at the point of care, consult colleagues remotely and reduce delays caused by inconsistent connectivity. This also helps minimise unnecessary travel, improving overall care coordination for patients and their families.
Dr Ednin Hamzah, Chief Executive Officer of Hospis Malaysia, expressed deep appreciation for the partnership. He explained that palliative care depends heavily on timely communication and well-coordinated clinical decisions. The tablets and connectivity provided through this collaboration significantly enhance the organisation’s ability to respond to patients’ needs in real time, allowing care to be delivered in a more dignified and responsive manner.
The partnership highlights Yes’ leadership in community-focused CSR initiatives and reflects the shared commitment of both organisations to uplifting healthcare frontliners, strengthening digital access and supporting Malaysia’s broader digital health aspirations through technology that delivers real impact.
