NTT DATA has officially introduced NTT DATA AI for Insurance, an AI native solution designed to help insurance providers modernise their core operations while meeting the strict governance and compliance requirements of the industry.
Built specifically for highly regulated insurance environments, the Service as Software solution transforms complex insurance workflows into secure, repeatable and governed digital services. The platform combines configurable AI agents, insurance specific data models, workflow orchestration and enterprise grade governance to ensure auditability, regulatory compliance and human oversight throughout every process.
Powered by the company’s AI native platform, NTT DATA AIVista, the solution enables insurers to modernise key functions such as underwriting, claims processing, customer service and other core business operations. With a prebuilt insurance foundation and flexible configuration capabilities, insurers can deploy AI more quickly while adapting the platform to their unique products, processes and regulatory requirements.
The solution also integrates seamlessly with existing insurance systems, allowing carriers to adopt AI capabilities without replacing their current infrastructure. In addition, its model routing capabilities help organisations avoid dependency on a single AI foundation model, providing greater flexibility for future technology adoption.
Bruno Abril, Global Lead for the Insurance Industry at NTT DATA Inc., said the insurance industry has always relied on human judgement to assess risks, determine fair pricing and deliver on promises made to customers.
He explained that AI is now strengthening insurers’ ability to fulfil these responsibilities by supporting human expertise with intelligent systems that operate within a governed enterprise framework. This allows insurers to move beyond AI assisted workflows towards fully AI delivered operations while maintaining the governance standards expected by regulators and company boards.
The launch comes at a time when insurance companies are under increasing pressure to improve underwriting efficiency, accelerate claims processing, reduce operational costs and strengthen risk management while complying with growing regulatory expectations.
According to the NTT DATA 2026 Global AI Report: A Playbook for AI Leaders in Insurance, two thirds of insurers intend to deploy AI in customer facing operations, while 86 percent support AI adoption across middle and back office functions. However, many organisations have yet to fully industrialise agentic AI across their core operations.
NTT DATA AI for Insurance addresses this challenge through a comprehensive architecture that includes AI models trained on insurance specific data, governance guardrails for regulatory compliance, an AI native knowledge base, configurable AI agents for rapid deployment and intelligent workflow orchestration that coordinates people, systems and business processes.
Prashant Hinge, Chief Information Officer at MSIG USA, noted that while the insurance industry continues to generate vast amounts of data, AI enables insurers to convert that information into meaningful business outcomes by identifying high risk claims earlier, improving consistency throughout the claims process and helping professionals make faster, more informed decisions.
Globally, NTT DATA currently serves 10 of the world’s top 25 insurance companies, operates 16 insurance focused delivery centres and employs more than 12,000 insurance specialists. The company has also been recognised as a leader in the HFS Horizons: Agentic Services 2026 Research Report and the ISG Provider Lens Insurance Services Strategic Capabilities report for its expertise in insurance GenAI and agentic AI services.
With the introduction of NTT DATA AI for Insurance, the company continues to strengthen its position as a global technology partner helping insurers embrace AI driven transformation while maintaining security, transparency and regulatory compliance.
