Tourism Malaysia, in collaboration with the Association of Sarawak Inbound Agencies (ASIA), the Sarawak Tourism Board, and Business Events Sarawak, successfully organised the Jom Ke Sarawak Roadshow with the participation of 22 representatives from the Sarawak tourism industry. The programme aimed to position Sarawak as a leading MICE destination, anchored by a dedicated Business to Business (B2B) session that connected industry players from Sarawak and the Central Region.
In conjunction with the roadshow, the Sarawak Delta Geopark Package Vol. 2 was officially unveiled. The new volume features 42 thematic itineraries curated by 13 Sarawak tour operators, highlighting the region’s remarkable geological formations, diverse flora and fauna, adventure-based attractions, rich cultural heritage and distinctive gastronomy. These travel packages are a central component of Sarawak’s preparations for its proposed UNESCO Global Geopark designation in 2026.
The development of this package represents a collaborative effort between Tourism Malaysia and the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Sarawak, supporting the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) vision to strengthen sustainable and cultural tourism. Among the destinations featured are the Sarawak Cultural Village and Bako National Park in Kuching; the Wind and Fairy Cave Nature Reserve and Paku Rock Maze in Bau; and Annah Rais Homestay along with Semadang River Kayak in Padawan.
The launch event was attended by key dignitaries, including YBrs. Mr. Samuel Lee Thai Hung, Deputy Director General (Promotions II) of Tourism Malaysia; Mr. Philip Yong, Chairman of ASIA; Mdm. Madeline George Pau, Head of Geopark Management Unit, Sarawak Forestry Department; Mr. Gustino Basuan, Acting Director of Marketing (Domestic and ASEAN) of the Sarawak Tourism Board; and Ms. Gloria Pahang, Manager of Business Development at Business Events Sarawak.
This initiative is closely aligned with the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) agenda, promoting Sarawak as both a MICE destination and a premier hub for sustainable cultural tourism. By showcasing the unique natural and cultural assets of the Sarawak Delta Geopark, the initiative strengthens Malaysia’s position as a responsible, world-class travel destination.
Malaysia continues to demonstrate strong tourism performance, recording 28,242,804 visitor arrivals from January to August 2025, reflecting a 14.5% increase from the previous year. Sarawak also showed notable growth with 3,599,656 visitor arrivals between January and September 2025.
