Art Toys Café: A Whimsical Destination for Art, Food, and Fun Opens at Sunway Pyramid Mall

Art Toys Café

Sunway Pyramid Mall’s New OASIS Wing Welcomes a Unique Café Experience Combining Art, Culture, and Culinary Delights. The highly anticipated Art Toys Café by Milolo has officially opened its doors in Sunway Pyramid Mall’s newly launched Oasis Wing, capturing the attention of art and toy lovers, families, and coffee enthusiasts alike. The café, which blends the world of art toys with high-quality dining, was met with overwhelming excitement during its grand opening, drawing crowds of curious onlookers, local influencers, and media representatives.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Datuk Millen Lee, founder of Milolo, alongside Datin Michelle Lee, the co-founder of Art Toys Café. The event was further honored by the presence of well-known figures in the local creative community, including Dennis Lee, the café’s coffee consultant, and the management team consisting of Ms. May, YC Tong, Grace Tan, and Olivia Chen.

Art Toys Café is a one-of-a-kind concept that fuses art, culture, and relaxation into an immersive experience. Visitors can enjoy a selection of artisanal coffee, pastries, and cakes while being surrounded by an impressive collection of limited-edition designer toys from global artists. The café is filled with popular collectible figures like Labubu, Zimomo, Pokémon, Disney characters, and many more, creating a vibrant and playful atmosphere that appeals to both art enthusiasts and collectors.

The concept stems from the success of Milolo, the brand behind the Art Toys Café, which initially began as an art toy merchandise business during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period. Datuk Millen Lee explained that the café was designed to offer customers a space to interact with art toys in a relaxed setting, with the opportunity to purchase exclusive pieces and enjoy quality food and drinks.

“We wanted to create an environment where people can engage with their favorite art toys while sipping on coffee or enjoying pastries. This is our way of offering an interactive and creative space that brings together both art and dining,” Datuk Millen shared.

Located at Lot F1.89A on the first floor of the Oasis Wing, Art Toys Café is a visual delight with its quirky and oversized art toys displayed throughout the space. Whether it’s the oversized Labubu figures or the collectible Zimomo toys, the café offers an eye-catching environment perfect for photo opportunities. For toy collectors, the café also rotates its toy collection regularly, ensuring that limited-edition and hard-to-find figures are available for purchase.

Patrons can indulge in freshly made pastries, including the café’s signature butter croissants, which have quickly become a favorite. Datuk Millen revealed that over 100 recipes were tested before settling on the current recipe, which is made using high-quality French butter. For those with a sweet tooth, the café also offers a selection of cakes, including the popular Labubu Butter Cookies — a treat perfect for kids and adults alike.

In addition to the pastries, Art Toys Café serves an array of handcrafted drinks made with premium coffee beans sourced from local suppliers. The coffee beans are roasted to the specific needs of the café, ensuring a consistent and rich flavor whether enjoyed hot or iced. Datuk Millen emphasized the café’s commitment to maintaining food safety standards and constantly improving their offerings.

This first Art Toys Café marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for Milolo and the growing world of art toys in Malaysia. Datuk Millen Lee shared exciting plans to expand the brand with six new outlets across the Klang Valley by the end of next year. Additionally, a flagship location combining both Milolo and Art Toys Café in a single space is in the works for the near future.

“We’re excited to bring our concept to more locations in Malaysia and possibly other states. The demand for art toys and creative spaces is growing, and we want to meet that demand while continuing to promote local and international toy artists,” Datuk Millen stated.

In line with the café’s dedication to promoting the art toys community, it will host meet-and-greet events with renowned toy artists from around the world. Next month, a popular Taiwanese toy artist will visit the café, followed by the Zombie Party artist from China. These events will give fans the chance to meet their favorite artists and learn more about their work. Local artists, such as Michael Chua, a representative of the Malaysian Art Toys Showcase, will also be featured, showcasing the growing recognition of local talent in the international art toy scene.

In celebration of its grand opening, Art Toys Café is offering several limited-time promotions to entice visitors. Customers who purchase any handcrafted drink will receive a free croissant (valid until 31st December 2024). Additionally, guests can enjoy a combo set — a handcrafted drink paired with a croissant — for just RM 20 and stand a chance to win a Labubu toy (valid until 22nd December 2024).

The café is also looking to expand its community of fans, where visitors of all ages are invited to experience the magic of art toys and enjoy quality food and beverages in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

Art Toys Café is set to become a must-visit destination in Sunway Pyramid Mall’s Oasis Wing, offering a unique blend of creative expression, delicious food, and immersive toy culture. With its welcoming ambiance, rotating toy collections, and artisanal offerings, it’s the perfect space for art toy fans, families, and anyone looking for a fun and imaginative experience.
