Tourism Malaysia is making a strong presence at Asia’s leading travel expo, the Taipei International Travel Fair (ITF) 2025, held from 7 to 10 November 2025. This participation highlights Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to promoting its diverse destinations, strengthening bilateral tourism cooperation, and gearing up for the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026) campaign.
This year marks one of Tourism Malaysia’s largest-ever participations at ITF Taipei, featuring the collaboration of three major state tourism boards — Sabah Tourism Board, Sarawak Tourism Board, and Tourism Selangor — alongside two leading airlines, AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines, as well as two key local travel partners, Tien Hai Travel Service and Shih Hsing Travel Service. Their unified participation represents Malaysia’s collective effort to showcase its unique tourism offerings and enhance the country’s presence in the Taiwan market.
The Malaysia Pavilion was officially launched through a ribbon-cutting ceremony officiated by Ms. Aznifah Isnariah Abdul Ghani, President of the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre in Taipei. The event was witnessed by media representatives and industry partners, followed by an engaging media interview session.
Located at Booth K132, the Malaysia Pavilion carries the theme “Surreal Experiences”, symbolizing Malaysia’s evolving journey that celebrates its rich cultural heritage while embracing modern diversity. The pavilion features immersive visual storytelling alongside traditional dance performances by the Petaling Jaya City Council Cultural Group, live henna artistry by Ms. Surin Kaur, batik painting sessions, interactive games, and stage giveaways, offering visitors a glimpse of Malaysia’s colorful culture and creativity.
Visitors who spend NT$2,000 or more at the Malaysia Pavilion during the event stand a chance to participate in a lucky draw featuring exciting prizes such as flight tickets to Malaysia, hotel stays, attraction passes, electronic items, and food and beverage vouchers.
Adding to the celebration, Tourism Malaysia, together with the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre (MFTC) and the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MayCham), will present “Makan Mania: Malaysian Food Fiesta” in partnership with Grand Hyatt Taipei. Running from 12 November to 15 December 2025, the festival will offer guests an authentic taste of Malaysia through a curated selection of signature dishes and traditional delights that showcase the nation’s culinary diversity.
Further enriching the cultural experience, the 2025 Malaysia Culture Day (Hari Budaya Malaysia) will be held from 15 to 16 November 2025 at the Taipei Music Centre under the theme “Kenduri Warna Warni” or “Colourful Celebration.” The event will highlight Malaysia’s vibrant cultural heritage through traditional performances, interactive workshops, exhibitions, and forum sessions led by Malaysian cultural experts and representatives.
From January to August 2025, Malaysia recorded 315,185 visitors from Chinese Taipei, marking an increase of 6.2% compared to the same period in 2024 and 4.4% higher than pre-pandemic levels in 2019. This consistent growth reflects Malaysia’s strong appeal as a travel destination, renowned for its lively cities, diverse cuisines, pristine islands, and culturally rich heritage towns.
Through its participation at ITF Taipei 2025, Tourism Malaysia continues to strengthen its tourism network, foster international collaboration, and build excitement ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 — a celebration of the nation’s breathtaking landscapes, rich traditions, and unforgettable experiences.
