The event highlights Souper Tang’s role in advancing wellness tourism as Malaysia prepares for the ‘Visit Malaysia 2026’ campaign.

Originally founded in 2009 as Taang Shifu, it has grown significantly over the years, bringing authentic Chinese wellness cuisine to a wider Malaysian audience. With a lineup of 17 outlets nationwide, the brand has become known for crafting meals that combine tradition and nutrition. Souper Tang’s carefully curated menu includes herbs like ginseng, cordyceps, and angelica root, showcasing centuries-old culinary practices in a contemporary setting. This latest outlet in Mid Valley aims to make health-conscious dining even more accessible, providing visitors with a fusion of flavorful, nourishing dishes inspired by traditional Chinese medicine.

At the opening event, Deputy-Director General Lee commended Souper Tang’s dedication to Malaysia’s diverse food culture, saying, “Souper Tang embodies the essence of Malaysia’s culinary richness, presenting Chinese traditions in a way that resonates with Malaysians of all backgrounds. As we work toward establishing Malaysia as a prime culinary destination, brands like Souper Tang play a significant role in preserving and promoting our unique heritage.”

Beyond health-focused dining, Souper Tang places a strong emphasis on sustainability by sourcing ingredients responsibly to ensure the well-being of the community and the environment. This commitment aligns with the broader goals of Malaysia’s tourism sector, positioning Souper Tang as an important contributor to Malaysia’s wellness and culinary tourism industries.

To mark the grand opening, celebrity guest Jack Lim entertained attendees with an engaging interactive session, distributing vouchers and gifts to delighted fans. The ceremony was enriched with traditional Chinese dance performances and a vibrant Lion dance, adding cultural charm to the celebration. The event celebrated not only Souper Tang’s commitment to wellness but also Malaysia’s diverse cultural tapestry, attracting a wide audience eager to experience both culinary and cultural traditions.

Located on Level 1, South Court, Mid Valley Megamall, the new outlet offers an expanded range of wellness products, including bird’s nests and specially curated gift hampers. In line with its growth goals, they also planning to introduce a revolutionary new product at its Sunway Pyramid flagship outlet starting on November 17. To commemorate this upcoming launch, customers who purchase SouperFast Herbal Soup sets will receive exclusive items such as a SoupMate Thermos, Multifunctional Electric Cooker, or Electric Ceramic Pot.

The new Mid Valley outlet solidifies Souper Tang’s place in Malaysia’s wellness cuisine landscape, aiming to attract both local and international visitors seeking unique dining experiences.
