MY WARISAN: Laksa…Mana Festival Galore 2025 Celebrates Malaysia’s Culinary Roots

MY WARISAN: LAKSA…MANA FESTIVAL GALORE 2025 invites Malaysians to experience a flavourful journey celebrating one of the nation’s most treasured dishes, laksa. Organised by OHSOM TV, the festival will take place on 22 and 23 November 2025 at the Main Atrium, Level 1 of KLGCC Mall. This two-day celebration brings together Malaysia’s multicultural identity through diverse laksa traditions, uniting communities with flavours, stories and shared heritage.

The festival aims to honour Malaysia’s wide range of laksa varieties by showcasing the unique flavours, ingredients and traditions behind each regional recipe. It also seeks to educate visitors on the origins and authenticity of laksa, offering insights into traditional preparation methods and culinary history. Another key objective is to empower youth and communities by inspiring them to preserve and innovate traditional culinary arts through demonstrations and interactive sessions.

Guided by the values of MADANI, the cultural preservation spirit of UNESCO and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the festival highlights the importance of food as a medium for sustainability, community empowerment and cultural continuity.

Throughout the two days, visitors can immerse themselves in a Laksa Galore Showcase featuring regional laksa from across the country, including Melaka Nyonya Laksa, Pangkor Laksa, Penang Laksa, Johor Laksa, Sarawak Laksa and Selangor’s signature Punten with Sambal Ijo and Tat Bengkulu. Each dish is presented with cooking displays, traditional ingredient showcases and tasting sessions, allowing visitors to experience authentic flavours up close.

Daily cooking demonstrations led by notable Malaysian culinary icons add depth to the festival experience. Among the featured personalities are Professor Dr. Muhammad Shahrim, Chef Dato’ Ismail Ahmad, Chef Debbie Teoh, Chef Muluk and Associate Professor Dr. Ahmad Esa Abdul Rahman. Their sessions cover traditional broth techniques, spice blending and sustainable cooking practices, offering valuable knowledge for aspiring cooks and seasoned food lovers alike.

The festival is made possible through the strong collaboration of several partners, including the Ministry of Education Malaysia, the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, the Department of National Heritage, Perbadanan Adat Melayu dan Warisan Negeri Selangor (PADAT) and KLGCC Mall. Honoured chefs and culinary experts also lend their expertise and support.

Together, these partners share a commitment to preserving Malaysia’s living heritage, nurturing a new generation of culinary custodians and promoting sustainable cultural development. MY WARISAN: LAKSA…MANA FESTIVAL GALORE 2025 stands as a meaningful celebration of tradition, community and the timeless flavours that shape the nation’s identity.
