Bateriku Expands Nationwide Reach with Launch of 250th Pitstop in Putrajaya

Bateriku (M) Sdn. Bhd. marked another significant milestone with the launch of its 250th Pitstop, reinforcing its position as the largest battery service network in Malaysia. The official opening was officiated by Fuziah Salleh, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).

With nearly 300 Pitstop locations nationwide, Bateriku continues to expand its footprint by offering not only battery retail services but also comprehensive customer support hubs. The introduction of the 250th Pitstop is expected to enhance operational capacity and meet the growing demand for reliable automotive services.

Located in Precinct 15, Putrajaya, the new Pitstop was carefully planned over a three-month period to identify a strategic premise. The company worked closely with Perbadanan Putrajaya and the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department to ensure all regulatory requirements, including business licensing and signage permits, were successfully secured within the stipulated timeline. This collaboration enabled a smooth and timely launch on 23 February 2026.

Precinct 15 is a thriving commercial hub that serves an estimated population of 250,000 residents from Putrajaya and Bangi. The area is home to a wide range of establishments including retail outlets, financial institutions, hotels, clinics, convenience stores, fast food chains, food and beverage businesses, as well as government offices and foreign embassies.

The new Pitstop further strengthens Bateriku’s presence in the Putrajaya market, complementing its existing locations in Precinct 9, Cyberjaya, Bangi, Sri Serdang, and Kajang. This expansion provides customers with greater accessibility and convenience when seeking automotive battery services.

From day one, the Precinct 15 Pitstop introduces a robust operational model, offering multiple payment options such as cash, QR payments, card transactions, and a Buy Now Pay Later scheme via Atome. This flexibility is designed to enhance customer experience and affordability.

Beyond business expansion, Bateriku remains actively involved in advocacy, education, and community development initiatives. The company collaborates with various ministries including the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and KPDN.

As part of its ongoing commitment, Bateriku has proposed a strategic collaboration with KPDN to introduce several key initiatives. These include a workshop rating and certification system aimed at improving transparency and boosting consumer confidence, as well as the digitalisation of the workshop ecosystem through an integrated data platform.

The collaboration also focuses on skills enhancement and entrepreneurship programmes to empower the local workforce. Initiatives such as the involvement of BHero in consumer advocacy efforts like Skuad Kita Pengguna and the inclusion of Bateriku’s offerings in programmes such as RAHMAH and NACCOL further highlight its commitment to supporting national agendas.

In the short term, Bateriku has outlined several quick-win initiatives to be implemented within three to six months. These include a pilot project for workshop certification under a KPDN “Seal of Trust,” activating BHero as frontline consumer advocates, and introducing affordable battery packages under the RAHMAH initiative.

Additionally, the development of a minimum viable product dashboard for monitoring complaints and workshop ratings is set to support digitalisation efforts and enhance transparency within the industry. These efforts are expected to deliver tangible benefits to consumers while strengthening regulatory oversight.

Bateriku remains committed to improving business management standards, particularly in automotive after-sales services and workshop operations. The company adheres to government standards and certifications such as SIRIM, ethical practices, and KPDN ratings to ensure service excellence.

In line with sustainability goals, Bateriku also supports circular economy practices, particularly in the management and disposal of used batteries. This includes regeneration processes that comply with guidelines set by the Department of Environment Malaysia, as well as initiatives under the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation.
