Amid the celebration of the 52nd anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, and in tandem with the growing momentum of Visit Malaysia 2026 and Visit Johor Year 2026, the “Let’s Go Malaysia” Cultural, Trade & Tourism Promotion Event was successfully held at Saint Tropez Hotel Changsha on 6 March 2026. The event marked a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral cooperation, bringing together key stakeholders from both nations to celebrate shared opportunities in tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.

Jointly organised by KMA Production and Hunan TV International, the event officially launched the cross-border travelogue programme “Let’s Go Malaysia”. Designed as a strategic initiative, the programme aims to deepen cultural understanding, promote Malaysia’s tourism offerings to Chinese audiences, and foster stronger economic collaboration between the two countries. Among the participating organisations were Tourism Malaysia, Malaysian Investment Development Authority, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, and Tourism Johor, alongside key counterparts such as the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce and the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. Their presence underscored the strong institutional support behind this cross-border initiative.

Beyond serving as a programme launch, the event functioned as a comprehensive cross-sector platform connecting policymakers, industry leaders, and cultural representatives. Corporate partners including EcoWorld Development Group Berhad, R&F Princess Cove, and IFOOD Expo also participated, further highlighting the integration of tourism with business and investment opportunities. The presence of nearly 100 mainstream media organisations reflected strong regional interest in expanding Malaysia–China collaboration across multiple sectors.

She emphasised that, in conjunction with Visit Johor Year 2026, the initiative is expected to showcase Johor’s unique attractions and position it as a key destination within Malaysia’s tourism landscape.

The cross-border travelogue “Let’s Go Malaysia” serves not only as a television production but also as a cultural bridge connecting the people of both nations. Through immersive storytelling, the series explores Malaysia’s diverse cultural heritage, rich culinary traditions, and the historical charm of Johor, offering audiences an engaging and authentic travel experience. As Malaysia and China continue to strengthen ties, initiatives such as this programme are poised to play a pivotal role in fostering deeper connections, enhancing mutual understanding, and unlocking new opportunities for collaboration.
