Malaysia’s iconic landmark, Menara Merdeka 118, has achieved another historic milestone after clinching two World Gold awards in the Office and Sustainable Development categories at the prestigious FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2026. The recognition further strengthens its position as one of the most outstanding developments in the global real estate industry.
The awards were presented during the 76th FIABCI World Real Estate Congress held in Vienna, Austria. This latest achievement follows its earlier success at the FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards 2025, where the development also secured top honours in similar categories, reflecting its consistent excellence at both national and international levels.
Standing at 678.9 metres, Menara Merdeka 118 is the tallest building in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, and the second tallest in the world. Beyond its height, the tower forms the centrepiece of a 40-acre integrated precinct in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, designed to drive long-term urban growth and connectivity.
According to Datuk Ir. Ts. Izwan Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Berhad, the recognition is a testament to a visionary development that balances heritage, innovation and sustainability. He emphasised that the project reflects a commitment to shaping a world-class landmark that brings pride to the nation.
He also highlighted that Menara Merdeka 118 is more than just an architectural icon, but a global destination integrating design excellence, sustainable practices and operational efficiency. The development aims to deliver lasting value not only to the property sector but also to surrounding communities and urban ecosystems.
The FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards evaluated entries across 16 categories, with winners selected based on concept, architecture, sustainability, social impact and heritage value. The recognition places Menara Merdeka 118 among a select group of developments worldwide that define excellence in modern real estate.
