Malaysia Welcomes MV Piano Land as New Homeport Cruise at Port Klang

Tourism Malaysia welcomed the arrival of the luxury cruise ship MV Piano Land at Port Klang, together with port authorities and tourism industry partners. The vessel, carrying more than 1,760 passengers from Hong Kong, will operate 11 sailings in Malaysia from 29 November to 25 December 2025.

Operating under a full charter cruise model, MV Piano Land will homeport at Port Klang for scheduled voyages to Penang and Langkawi, offering passengers a smooth and convenient cruising experience.

The ship features a Muslim-friendly hospitality concept, with fully halal-certified galleys and food preparation areas. Passengers can enjoy a variety of local and international halal cuisines, supported by dedicated prayer rooms and family-friendly programmes designed to create a comfortable experience for all ages.

YBhg. Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, said the arrival of MV Piano Land reflects strong cooperation between Tourism Malaysia, port partners, and industry stakeholders. He emphasised that this initiative enhances accessibility for cruise travellers and strengthens Malaysia’s positioning as a premier destination under Visit Malaysia 2026.

Tourism Malaysia will also organise a FAM Trip on 1 December 2025, involving 60 international and domestic participants, including media, influencers, and travel agents. The three-day, two-night cruise from Port Klang to Penang will give participants first-hand experience aboard MV Piano Land while allowing them to explore key Penang attractions before returning to Port Klang.

A welcoming ceremony will be held on 2 December 2025 at Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal, Penang, to celebrate the arrival of FAM Trip guests. The event will be attended by YBhg. Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin, Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, who will present souvenirs in appreciation of their support toward Malaysia’s maritime tourism promotion.

The homeporting of MV Piano Land is expected to boost Malaysia’s tourism sector, stimulate local economic activity, and offer travellers convenient and accessible cruise options. This initiative also supports Visit Malaysia 2026, which aims to attract 47 million international visitors and highlight Malaysia as a top destination with diverse and memorable travel experiences.
