Global Turbine Asia Sdn. Bhd. (GTA), a Malaysia-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider for aircraft engines and a certified Maintenance Centre for Safran Helicopter Engines, has entered into three strategic collaborations with Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), AMRACE Sdn Bhd, and PT3 Consultant Sdn Bhd. These partnerships mark a significant step in strengthening GTA’s talent development framework and industry collaboration ecosystem within the aerospace sector.
The collaborations are designed to address critical needs across Malaysia’s aerospace ecosystem by bridging education, training, and workforce readiness. UTeM will support academic and educational pathways, while AMRACE and PT3 will function as structured training partners focusing on reskilling, upskilling, and workforce preparation programmes. A key emphasis is placed on enabling structured transition pathways for veterans into the aerospace and technical workforce.

Collectively, these agreements reflect GTA’s commitment to building a stronger foundation for long-term industry growth by connecting aviation industry players, academic institutions, training providers, and future talent. The initiative also supports Malaysia’s broader aerospace ambitions by creating more practical pathways from education and training into employment, while reinforcing human capital development aligned with the growth trajectory of GTA Holdings Berhad, which recently received approval from Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad for its proposed listing on the ACE Market.
The Memorandum of Understanding with AMRACE focuses on establishing structured pathways for Malaysian veterans transitioning into civilian employment. Under this collaboration, GTA and AMRACE aim to work together on recruitment, training, placement, and job matching through a structured 14-week programme combining core and practical training. GTA will support candidate sourcing, employer engagement, and placement coordination, while AMRACE will lead training delivery, assessment, and certification processes.
Meanwhile, the MoU with PT3 Consultant Sdn Bhd complements these efforts by enhancing training delivery, workforce readiness, and technical competency development. The collaboration includes structured training programmes, certification preparation, apprenticeship initiatives, and work-based learning designed to strengthen reskilling and upskilling pathways for veterans and industry talent.

Under a Letter of Intent with UTeM, GTA will provide industry insights and feedback on the proposed Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Machining (Aerospace Manufacturing) programme. This collaboration aims to ensure academic relevance to industry requirements while supporting curriculum development, graduate employability skills, and awareness of future aerospace manufacturing trends.
GTA Executive Chairman Datuk Nonee Ashirin Datuk Mohd Radzi said the aviation and aerospace industry is fundamentally built on people, skills, and trust. She noted that the collaborations are important in strengthening human capital and technical capability ecosystems that support long-term industry growth, with each partner contributing unique strengths ranging from academic alignment to structured veteran reskilling and technical competency development.
She added that the initiative goes beyond formal agreements and is about building a stronger aerospace support ecosystem capable of producing future-ready talent, supporting career transitions, and enhancing industry capability. Sustainable industry growth, she said, must be anchored in skilled talent development, hands-on training, and close collaboration between industry, academia, and training partners.
GTA believes these collaborations align with its long-term objective of strengthening Malaysia’s aviation support landscape. By supporting education, veteran upskilling, technical development, and employer matching, the company aims to contribute to a more sustainable aerospace talent pipeline while further deepening its role in the aviation support value chain.
