Sime Darby Property and MINI Malaysia Spread Big Love at Elmina Lakeside Mall

Elmina Lakeside Mall ushers in the festive season with a spirit of generosity through a collaborative initiative between Sime Darby Property Berhad and MINI Malaysia. Running until 19 December 2025, the campaign transforms the mall into a focal point for community giving, inviting the public to come together to fulfil the holiday wishes of 120 underprivileged children.

Guided by Sime Darby Property’s commitment to nurturing close-knit communities and MINI’s global philosophy of “Big Love”, the initiative aims to connect the wider public with children in need through meaningful action. At the heart of the campaign is The Giving Post, located within Elmina Lakeside Mall, where a festive MINI Convertible display serves as the official collection point for Christmas gifts.

Appollo Leong, Chief Operating Officer for Township Development at Sime Darby Property, shared that Elmina Lakeside Mall is proud to serve as the venue sponsor for the initiative. With its accessibility via the Guthrie Corridor Expressway and strong connectivity across the Klang Valley, the mall provides a convenient space for the community to participate in the charity drive. He expressed hope that the initiative will inspire visitors to share festive joy and ensure that every child feels included during the holiday season.

The campaign supports Rumah Kasih Harmoni Paya Jaras, a welfare home that cares for orphans and children from underprivileged backgrounds. Visitors to Elmina Lakeside Mall can take part by selecting a numbered wish tab from the board at The Giving Post. Each tab corresponds to a specific item requested by a child. Participants are encouraged to purchase the exact item listed and place it at the collection point, ensuring that each gift reaches its intended recipient.

To safeguard the wellbeing of the children, all donated items must be brand new and unopened. The Giving Post is open daily from 10.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. throughout the campaign period, making it easy for shoppers and families to participate at their convenience.

Linnet Yew, Director of MINI Malaysia, highlighted that the concept of “Big Love” is best demonstrated through tangible actions. She noted that the collaboration with Sime Darby Property allows both brands to channel their collective efforts towards a meaningful cause. The transformation of the iconic MINI Convertible into a symbol of hope at Elmina Lakeside Mall reflects this shared purpose, and she expressed anticipation for the final delivery of gifts, which will underscore the idea that kindness is a journey best taken together.

The initiative will culminate on Saturday, 20 December 2025, with The Big Love Drive. Approximately 20 MINI owners will gather at Elmina Lakeside Mall to load the collected gifts before forming a convoy to deliver them directly to Rumah Kasih Harmoni. This final gesture ensures that every child receives their present in time for the festive celebrations.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, visitors to Elmina Lakeside Mall can also enjoy weekend MINI test drives from 5 to 28 December. This activity offers an opportunity to experience the brand while being part of a broader community-driven effort that celebrates generosity and togetherness.

This collaboration reflects Sime Darby Property’s broader vision of developing townships that go beyond physical spaces to become ecosystems of care and social responsibility. By partnering with brands that share similar values, the Group continues to create experiences that strengthen community bonds, encourage meaningful participation and foster compassion among residents and visitors alike.
