In conjunction with the 52nd anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, and in celebration of Visit Malaysia 2026, Hunan TV International alongside Mango TV and KMA Production have launched a series of promotional initiatives in Johor.
As part of efforts to further strengthen economic and cultural exchanges, a cultural and tourism promotion event was held in March at Saint Tropez Hotel in Changsha. The initiative received strong support from Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Johor, the Johor State Government, and various local business institutions.
Against this backdrop, KMA Production developed and produced a new special series titled “Let’s Go Malaysia.” The programme adopts the festive theme “Instant Joy, Instant Departure” for the New Year and is guided by a creative philosophy that integrates thoughtful storytelling, artistic presentation, and a people-centric approach. Through an immersive travel format, the series highlights Malaysia’s cultural richness, explores scenic landscapes, showcases heritage traditions, and captures the vibrancy of modern life, fostering meaningful cross-cultural engagement.

“Let’s Go Malaysia” is simulcast on Hunan TV International and Mango TV. The first episode premiered on 25 February, followed by the second episode on 4 March. A promotional launch ceremony held in Hunan on 6 March further expanded the programme’s reach and reinforced tourism collaboration between Hunan and Malaysia.
The programme features two Mango TV artistes alongside Malaysia’s national icon and Olympic mixed doubles badminton silver medallist Goh Liu Ying, marking her debut appearance on a Chinese variety programme. With an emphasis on authenticity and genuine interaction, the series presents Johor’s landscapes, Nanyang cuisine, and multicultural heritage, strengthening cultural connections and audience engagement between both regions.
Building on this momentum, the Hunan–Malaysia Cultural, Trade and Tourism Expo serves as a key extension of the programme. Guided by the theme “The Hunan–Malaysia Synergy Powering Investment, Trade and Tourism,” the initiative integrates cultural promotion, product exhibition and sales, overseas business expansion, media outreach, and education and investment visits. It forms a comprehensive platform that combines cultural exchange with economic collaboration and industrial connectivity.

The project aims to deepen strategic cooperation between Hunan and Malaysia, particularly Johor, in tourism promotion, industrial synergy, and trade engagement. It seeks to achieve complementary resource integration while creating shared value across sectors.
As a major highlight of this collaboration, the Hunan–Malaysia Business and Tourism Expo will take place in Johor from 31 July to 2 August. The three-day event will feature a wide range of activities including a China Gastronomy Carnival, official opening ceremony, culinary demonstrations, cultural performances, brand showcases, business matching forums, investment visits, and sessions on education opportunities and the Malaysia My Second Home programme.
The expo is expected to attract at least 500 emerging enterprises and premium brands from China, creating opportunities for exhibition, networking, and business matching. This is set to further expand bilateral trade and deepen industrial exchange between the two regions.
Through the combined impact of media exposure and business collaboration, the initiative supports Chinese enterprises in expanding into Southeast Asia while also facilitating the entry of high-quality Malaysian products and businesses into China. It represents a new framework of cultural integration, industrial cooperation, and shared economic growth.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in regional partnership and offers an innovative model for deeper integration across culture, business, and tourism. It signals a new phase of closer, more diverse, and sustainable cooperation between China and Malaysia.
