In a move that reflects the growing convergence of automotive services and financial protection, Biru InsureTech Sdn. Bhd. (BIRU), a subsidiary of Bateriku (M) Sdn. Bhd. (Bateriku), has partnered with Advance Profinity Sdn. Bhd. (APSB), the official distributor of Mannol and Champion lubricants, to launch the AutoMaster Care programme. The initiative integrates Personal Accident Protection (PAP) coverage into routine vehicle maintenance, providing motorists with added peace of mind whenever they service their vehicles using selected lubricant products.
The AutoMaster Care programme is designed to make protection more accessible by embedding insurance-related benefits directly into everyday automotive services. Under the programme, motorists who perform engine oil servicing with Mannol or Champion lubricants at participating outlets are automatically eligible for PAP coverage at no additional cost. By eliminating the need for consumers to purchase separate protection plans, the initiative simplifies access to financial protection while enhancing the value of routine vehicle maintenance.
The PAP coverage offers a range of benefits aimed at supporting motorists in the event of an accident. Participants are entitled to medical expense coverage of up to RM150 and ambulance fees of up to RM300. The protection also includes RM1,500 for broken bone injuries, while coverage for total permanent disability is set at RM4,000. In the unfortunate event of accidental death, beneficiaries will receive RM4,000 along with funeral expense coverage of RM1,000.
Coverage is activated once customers confirm their purchase through the AutoMaster Care platform. The digital platform also enables users to monitor their coverage period, access policy-related information and manage claims through a centralised system, creating a seamless and user-friendly experience. The protection remains valid for four months from the date of activation and applies to eligible passenger car motor oil (PCMO) vehicles within the AutoMaster Care ecosystem.
The collaboration underscores a broader industry trend towards integrating protection solutions into automotive products and services. By combining vehicle maintenance with personal accident coverage, BIRU and APSB are delivering greater value to consumers while encouraging wider adoption of embedded protection offerings. The initiative follows a similar approach introduced by Bateriku in 2025 through its Astra Batteries programme, which bundled Group Personal Accident (GPA) Takaful coverage of up to RM7,000 with battery purchases.
As Malaysia’s automotive and InsurTech sectors continue to evolve, initiatives such as AutoMaster Care demonstrate how businesses can enhance customer experience through innovative value-added services. By embedding protection into routine vehicle ownership activities, industry players are not only improving accessibility to financial safeguards but also helping motorists enjoy a more secure and confident ownership journey.
