The Asia Youth International Model United Nations (AYIMUN) successfully returned for its 18th edition, held from September 29 to August 1, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Carrying the theme “Fostering Diplomacy, Achieving Global Prosperity”, the conference brought together 1,000 delegates from 45 countries, spanning Asia, North America, and beyond, to simulate United Nations councils and address pressing global challenges through diplomacy, collaboration, and solution-driven dialogue.
Over the course of the event, delegates sharpened their public speaking, diplomacy, and critical thinking skills through debates, discussions, and interactive sessions. The diverse cultural and academic backgrounds of participants provided a unique platform for networking and knowledge exchange, enriching their personal, academic, and professional development.
AYIMUN 18th featured eight major UN councils, each tackling complex international issues. Among the highlights were ECOSOC addressing intergenerational poverty, WHO focusing on healthcare worker protection in conflict zones, UNHRC raising concerns on extrajudicial killings in post-war Syria, and UNICEF tackling stunting in Southeast Asia. Other councils included WTO on carbon pricing in trade, UN Tourism on sustainable tourism, ILO on ethical AI in the labor market, and UNCTAD on the impact of money laundering on sustainable development.

The conference underscored the importance of empowering youth as key stakeholders in shaping a just, secure, and sustainable future. Officially registered under Pusat Prestasi Nasional (Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, AYIMUN 18th reaffirmed its role as a credible international forum that cultivates leadership and diplomacy among young changemakers.
Following the success of the Kuala Lumpur edition, International Global Network announced upcoming conferences including Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN) XII to be held in Bali, Indonesia on October 10–13, 2025, and AYIMUN 19th scheduled for November 21–24, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand.
