vivo made a notable appearance at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2026, which officially began on 24 March 2026 in Boao, Hainan Province. At the event, the company showcased its Blue Technology Matrix along with its latest advancements in 6G, Mixed Reality (MR), imaging, and intelligent software. This participation further reinforces vivo’s role as a member of the BFA Board of Directors and its position as a strategic partner for the fifth consecutive year.
For vivo Malaysia, this global milestone is especially meaningful as it comes shortly after the successful launch of the vivo V70 on 5 March 2026. The device represents vivo’s global vision in imaging technology, bringing advanced capabilities into the hands of everyday Malaysian consumers.
During the forum’s “Release Moment” session, Hu Baishan, President and Chief Operating Officer of vivo and President of the vivo Central Research Institute, delivered a keynote titled “Imaging Technology Enables the Connection of All Things: A Visual Dialogue with Physical Reality.” In his speech, he highlighted vivo’s forward-looking approach to technological development, focusing on building a perception system rooted in imaging to enhance how computing interacts with the physical world.

Hu explained that smartphones will continue to serve as the primary medium for human-computer interaction over the next decade. Beyond communication tools, they are expected to evolve into sensory hubs and personal digital companions that bridge artificial intelligence with real-world experiences. As AI advances, it will move from being “omniscient” in the digital realm to “omnipotent” in the physical world, with imaging acting as the “eyes” that enable AI to perceive and navigate real-life environments.
This vision is reflected in the recently launched vivo V70 in Malaysia, which combines seven flagship-level features within a midrange device. These include a 50 MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera powered by the Sony IMX882 sensor with up to 20x zoom, intelligent photography modes such as Stage Mode and Magic Weather, 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanning 2.0, and OriginOS 6 supported by LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage. Together, these features demonstrate vivo’s commitment to delivering a seamless integration of advanced imaging and intelligent software.

Building on this direction, vivo is positioning imaging as a strategic priority that will shape the future of mobile computing as it expands its multi-scenario smart ecosystem. The company is moving toward becoming an ecosystem-driven technology platform, where devices evolve from traditional smartphones into “Agent phones” capable of perception, cognition, and action. These future devices are envisioned as intelligent digital companions designed to understand and respond to users’ needs across everyday scenarios.
vivo also plans to extend imaging as a foundational capability across three key product categories: smartphones, headsets, and robotics. By doing so, the company aims to modularly integrate “Imaging + AI” into various aspects of daily life, enabling a more connected and intelligent ecosystem.
On the opening day of the forum, Hu Baishan presented Zhang Jun, Secretary-General of the Boao Forum for Asia, with the vivo X300 Ultra as the forum’s official smartphone. As vivo’s latest imaging flagship, the device highlights the company’s innovation in mobile photography and reflects the strength of intelligent manufacturing in China.

In addition, vivo is contributing to discussions across two sub-forums at the event. Zhang Fei, Vice President of Technology at vivo, is participating in the session titled “AI+: Empowering Industrial Upgrading through Digital and Intelligent Technology,” where he will explore the convergence of imaging and intelligent software. Meanwhile, Shao Hao, Head of the Robot Lab and Chief Scientist at vivo, will take part in the “Advancement and Breakthrough of Humanoid Robotics” session, sharing insights into vivo’s latest research and future plans in robotics.
Guided by its belief that imaging technology can connect all things, vivo remains committed to user-centric innovation while collaborating with global partners to ensure that technological advancements benefit a wider audience. This commitment extends to markets like Malaysia, where consumers continue to gain access to the latest innovations designed to enhance everyday life.
