SoftwareOne and Crayon Join Forces to Unlock New Growth Opportunities for Technology Partners

SoftwareOne has strengthened its position in the Asia Pacific (APAC) technology market following the completion of the integration of Crayon’s regional channel operations under the SoftwareOne brand, creating a unified business designed to expand opportunities for technology partners.

The move brings together two established technology organisations with extensive experience in software solutions, cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), data management and managed services.

By combining their respective capabilities, SoftwareOne aims to establish a more comprehensive technology ecosystem that enables partners to access specialised expertise, strengthen their service offerings and respond more effectively to increasingly complex customer requirements.

The integration also brings together established vendor relationships, regional market knowledge and technical resources, providing a stronger foundation for technology partners seeking to expand their businesses across APAC.

Varun Paliwal, President of APAC at SoftwareOne, described the development as an important milestone in uniting two organisations with complementary strengths and established partner networks.

He said both SoftwareOne and Crayon have developed strong relationships with technology partners across the region, supported by extensive expertise in delivering software and cloud solutions.

Through the combined organisation, partners will be able to access a broader range of services while continuing to work with familiar local teams and maintaining ownership of their customer relationships.

Paliwal emphasised that the objective extends beyond increasing the size of the organisation. Instead, the focus is on creating meaningful business opportunities, helping partners address customer needs and supporting their long-term growth.

The integration comes amid accelerating technology investments across Asia Pacific, particularly in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and enterprise digital transformation.

According to IDC projections cited by the company, regional information and communications technology spending is expected to reach US$647 billion in 2026.

Investment in AI and generative AI is also projected to reach US$370 billion by 2029, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 38.4%.

These developments highlight the growing importance of technology partners capable of delivering comprehensive solutions as businesses move beyond early-stage AI experimentation towards larger-scale implementation.

As enterprise technology requirements become increasingly interconnected, organisations are looking for partners that can provide not only software and infrastructure but also technical expertise, implementation support and ongoing managed services.

The combined SoftwareOne channel business is designed to address these requirements by giving partners access to a larger pool of specialists, including solution architects, cybersecurity professionals, vendor experts and technical consultants.

This approach allows partners to pursue more sophisticated projects without necessarily investing in additional internal resources or developing every specialised capability independently.

SoftwareOne’s service delivery model also enables partners to collaborate on complex customer engagements or offer selected services under their own branding.

Under this arrangement, partners maintain control over their customer relationships, while SoftwareOne provides additional technical and operational support where needed.

The company believes this collaborative approach can help partners improve competitiveness, expand their service portfolios and develop new revenue opportunities.

Beyond technical capabilities, the integration provides access to SoftwareOne’s wider global network.

Operating in more than 70 countries with approximately 12,000 professionals, SoftwareOne maintains relationships with more than 7,500 software vendors through its global marketplace.

These connections provide partners with access to technology solutions, vendor programmes and specialist resources that may otherwise be difficult to secure independently.

The company’s Partner Connections programme further supports collaboration by connecting resellers with specialist delivery partners, enabling them to pursue business opportunities requiring expertise across multiple technology disciplines.

Meanwhile, the ISV Innovation Hub supports independent software vendors seeking to commercialise their intellectual property through technology marketplaces and related development programmes.

SoftwareOne will also continue providing partner enablement initiatives covering market intelligence, certifications, technical development and vendor programme guidance.

For APAC markets, the company intends to combine its international resources with the regional knowledge and established relationships developed by both SoftwareOne and Crayon.

Paliwal noted that local market understanding remains essential because technology maturity, regulatory environments and customer expectations vary significantly across the region.

He said the integration would allow the organisation to provide global technology capabilities while preserving the local expertise needed to support partners effectively.

Another component of the expanded offering is SoftwareOne’s Cloud-iQ platform, which helps partners simplify cloud and software subscription management.

The platform provides capabilities such as automated billing, subscription administration, usage intelligence and business insights, enabling partners to improve operational efficiency and gain better visibility into customer technology consumption.

Vikas Bhonsle, Head of Channel, APAC at SoftwareOne, said the combined organisation would create more opportunities for partners to strengthen their portfolios and pursue business engagements that may previously have been beyond their individual capabilities.

He explained that providing access to additional expertise, services and industry connections would help partners deliver greater value to customers while supporting sustainable business expansion.

With the integration now completed, SoftwareOne is positioning its unified APAC channel business to support the next phase of regional digital transformation.

The company expects its expanded capabilities and partner-focused operating model to play an increasingly important role as demand for cloud computing, cybersecurity, AI and managed technology services continues to evolve.
