KFC Malaysia Community Outreach Initiative
KFC Malaysia has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to community well-being through the contribution of 20,000 face masks designed to support vulnerable and underserved populations across the Klang Valley. This meaningful initiative reflects the brand’s ongoing dedication to generating positive social impact while addressing immediate community needs, particularly amidst recent air quality concerns affecting various parts of the country. The contribution was carried out in strategic collaboration with long-standing Harvest Programme partners Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) and The Lost Food Project (TLFP), two reputable organizations boasting extensive outreach networks dedicated to at-risk groups.
The symbolic handover ceremony took place at Menara QSR, marking the launch of a comprehensive two-phase outreach effort aimed at protecting individuals facing hardship, such as the homeless and low-income families. During the first phase, KSK and TLFP distributed the face masks through their established channels, which included a joint outreach session on October 17, 2026, at the Pusat Khidmat Gelandangan Medan Tuanku in Kuala Lumpur, where volunteers handed out face masks and KFC meal packs to members of the homeless community. Together, these NGO partners actively reach nearly 8,000 beneficiaries across the Klang Valley, encompassing charity homes and People’s Housing Programme (PPR) communities with impact extending nationwide.
KFC Harvest Programme and Future Distributions
The second phase of the initiative will seamlessly integrate into upcoming activations under the KFC Harvest Programme, the company’s flagship food rescue initiative launched locally in 2019 to redistribute surplus food while minimizing waste. Through future distributions, beneficiaries at participating charity homes and community centres will receive face masks and freshly prepared KFC meals alongside regular frozen chicken contributions. Speaking at the ceremony, Sahada Salihin, Head of Governance at QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd., emphasized that the organization’s corporate responsibility extends far beyond serving great meals, striving instead to be an enduring positive force in society. Since its inception, the Harvest Programme has expanded to 170 participating restaurants nationwide, successfully redistributing over 61,000 kilograms of surplus food to support food security and community welfare across Malaysia.
