Emirates Introduces Next-Level Premium Economy Experience With World’s First Electric Privacy Seat

Emirates is taking its award-winning Premium Economy experience to a new level with the introduction of the world’s first electrically powered Premium Economy seat featuring a full-height adjustable privacy screen between every seat.

The new seating innovation will debut on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft, offering passengers greater control over their personal space while travelling.

Installed in the Emirates A350 Premium Economy cabin, the new seats are arranged in a spacious 2-3-2 configuration with only 28 seats available, creating a more exclusive and comfortable environment throughout the journey.

The electrically powered privacy divider allows passengers to easily adjust their level of privacy using integrated seat controls.

Whether relaxing, enjoying a meal or working during the flight, travellers can create a more personalised space by raising or lowering the divider and locking it into their preferred position.

The new seat also represents Emirates’ first fully electrically powered Premium Economy seat, allowing passengers to adjust seating positions with the touch of a button through the integrated Passenger Control Unit.

Dedicated settings including lounge mode and meal mode provide additional convenience for different moments throughout the flight.

Comfort has also been enhanced with the introduction of Emirates’ U-Dream headrest by Safran Seats.

Designed with leather finishing, the adjustable headrest provides improved neck and head support, allowing passengers to customise the side wings according to their preferred sleeping or resting position.

A manually deployable leather footrest further enhances relaxation by providing additional leg support during long-haul flights.

For modern travellers who rely on personal devices, Emirates is also introducing wireless charging in Premium Economy for the first time.

Each seat includes USB-C charging capability and a tray table equipped with an integrated phone holder, allowing passengers to conveniently use their devices as a secondary entertainment screen during meals or throughout the journey.

Passengers travelling on the new Airbus A350 aircraft will also enjoy Emirates’ award-winning ice inflight entertainment system through a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen.

The upgraded aircraft will feature enhanced camera views, including new left and right exterior perspectives alongside existing forward and downward cameras, giving passengers a more immersive view of their journey.

Beyond seating and technology, Emirates continues to enhance its Premium Economy service with elevated dining experiences.

Passengers can enjoy regionally inspired menus prepared by Emirates’ chefs and served on Royal Doulton fine china with linen napkins and stainless-steel Robert Welch cutlery.

The experience is complemented by a selection of premium beverages, including Chandon Vintage Brut 2021, an exclusive Australian sparkling wine available to Emirates Premium Economy customers worldwide.

Emirates also continues expanding its premium wine programme, featuring selections from renowned producers across different regions as part of the airline’s long-term investment in its onboard dining experience.

For long-haul journeys, Premium Economy passengers will also receive exclusive reusable amenity kits created in partnership with United for Wildlife.

The collectible kits are made using bio-based materials and feature premium plant-powered skincare products from Aveda, along with essential travel items including socks, eyeshades, earplugs and dental kits.

Since launching Premium Economy in 2022, Emirates has continued expanding the cabin experience across its growing fleet, including aircraft served by Airbus A350.

Inspired by the airline’s signature Business Class service, Emirates Premium Economy combines spacious seating, refined dining, premium entertainment and enhanced comfort to create a more elevated travel experience.

The cabin has received multiple international recognitions, including Best Premium Economy Class at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards and Airline with the Best Premium Economy Class at the 2025 ULTRAs Awards.

The introduction of the electrically powered Premium Economy seat with a full-height privacy screen marks another milestone in Emirates’ continued investment in aviation innovation.

Through advanced technology, improved comfort and personalised experiences, Emirates continues its mission to help travellers “Fly Better”.
