Asia Islamic Tourism & Trade Expo and World Islamic Tourism Awards 2024 Launching Soon
The Malaysia Tourism Agency Association (MATA) is thrilled to announce the pre-launch of the eagerly awaited Asia Islamic Tourism & Trade Expo (AITEX) and the esteemed World Islamic Tourism Awards 2024. Scheduled to occur from August 23-26, 2024, at the Sunway Resort Hotel in Bandar Sunway, Selangor, this premier event is set to be a pivotal gathering for the global Islamic tourism and trade industries.
AITEX will present an extensive exhibition spanning more than 3,000 square meters, highlighting various sectors such as tourism, Islamic jewelry, and Islamic finance. The expo will welcome both trade visitors and the general public daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Exhibitors from various countries including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Thailand, Indonesia, Iraq, Turkey, Brunei, China, Saudi Arabia, as well as regions like Langkawi, Pahang, and Perlis, along with organizations such as Batik Air and Selangor Homestay, will be present, offering a unique chance to delve into the diverse cultural and economic offerings of these areas.
Key highlights of AITEX include:
- Exhibitions: This event will feature an impressive array of the finest in Islamic tourism, jewelry, and finance, showcasing contributions from a diverse range of countries.
- Islamic Tourism Conference: Held on August 23-24, 2024, this conference, themed “Embracing Diversity: The Promise and Potential of Islamic Tourism,” will host 15 distinguished speakers sharing their insights and expertise on the evolving landscape of Islamic tourism.
- Ministers and CEOs Summit and Tourism Investment Asia: Scheduled for August 25, 2024, this summit will convene top ministers and CEOs to discuss and explore critical investment opportunities in Asia’s tourism sector, making it a pivotal forum for shaping the future of tourism in the region.

MATA also excited to share that Batik Air will be the Partner Airline and Sunway Resort Hotel will be the Partner Hotel for AITEX 2024, with additional support from the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB).
The World Islamic Tourism 2024, serving as the grand finale of AITEX, will honor excellence and innovation within the Islamic tourism sector. This prestigious event will recognize remarkable achievements and contributions in categories such as Best Islamic Tourism Destination, Best Islamic Hotel/Resort, Innovation in Islamic Tourism, Best Halal Culinary Experience, and Outstanding Contribution to Islamic Tourism. The awards gala dinner is scheduled for Monday, August 26, 2024, at The Grand Ballroom, Sunway Resort Hotel, Bandar Sunway, Selangor.
