A Taste of the Past: Parkview Café’s Tiffin Tales Journey Through Malaysian History

In today’s fast-paced world, there is something incredibly comforting about reconnecting with the past, especially through food. Parkview Café at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is doing exactly that with the launch of Tiffin Tales, a special dining experience available until 30 June 2025.

Tiffin Tales is a celebration of Malaysia’s rich culinary roots, served through the humble but iconic tiffin carrier. Once a staple in family kitchens and festive gatherings, the tiffin is now at the centre of a dining concept that brings generations together over classic Malay and Nyonya dishes. Each set, suitable for two, is presented in an authentic tiffin carrier and features a rotating menu of dishes that changes weekly.

The menu includes beloved favourites such as Nyonya Pai Tee, Chicken Curry Kapitan, Nyonya Asam Udang, Nasi Bunga Telang, Rendang Daging Nyonya, Sambal Udang Petai, Nasi Bawang Putih and the sweet and creamy Sago Gula Melaka. Every bite is a reminder of the rich cultural tapestry that defines Malaysia’s food scene.

Executive Chef Hisham Jaafar explained that Tiffin Tales was inspired by memories of opening tiffin carriers during family gatherings, with each layer holding a delicious surprise. The experience is not just about food but about recreating those warm, joyful moments that define family and tradition.

At RM90 nett per set, Tiffin Tales is an affordable way to experience the richness of Malaysia’s heritage cuisine. Parkview Café, located on the first floor of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, provides a scenic dining experience, complete with breathtaking views of the Petronas Twin Towers.

Diners are invited to share their experiences online by tagging @pvc.klcc on Instagram or @parkview café on Facebook and using the hashtag #TiffinTales.
