Hektar REIT and the Daily Meals Programme
In conjunction with World Food Day Hektar Asset Management Sdn Bhd, the manager of Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust (Hektar REIT), has stepped forward with a RM10,000 sponsorship to support the Daily Meals Programme run by the Dignity for Children Foundation Malaysia.
This meaningful contribution is set to provide nutritious daily meals for 100 underprivileged children throughout October 2026. The initiative highlights the critical role proper nutrition plays in fostering children’s learning, development and overall well-being, particularly for those hailing from marginalised and vulnerable backgrounds.

Nutritious Meals and Educational Development
Through Dignity’s Daily Meals Programme, each child receives a balanced main meal and a healthy snack every school day from Monday to Friday. Freshly prepared at the school’s on-site kitchen, the rotating child-friendly menu features wholesome local favourites and nutritious dishes, including chicken fried rice, protein-rich dhal curry and nasi lemak, complemented by midday snacks like fresh fruit, milk and biscuits.

Beyond addressing immediate food security needs, the programme acts as a vital pillar in educational development. Consistent access to nutritious food helps children maintain their energy and focus throughout school hours, minimising hunger-related distractions and enabling more active participation in classroom learning.
Sabrina Halim, Chief Operating Officer of Hektar Asset Management, emphasized the long-term vision behind the partnership. “Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and reach their full potential, and access to proper nutrition plays an important role in making that possible,” she stated. She further added that meaningful community initiatives must extend beyond short-term assistance to drive lasting, positive outcomes.
Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals
Established in 1988, the Dignity for Children Foundation has long been dedicated to transforming the lives of marginalised youth through academic education, life skills training, healthcare and nutrition, ultimately helping them break the cycle of poverty.
Hektar REIT’s latest collaboration underscores its ongoing commitment to social well-being and aligns closely with three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). By empowering these children with nourishment and education, Hektar REIT continues to pave the way for resilient and inclusive communities.
