Samsung Malaysia Electronics has been honoured with the prestigious ESGBusiness Award 2025, underscoring its steadfast commitment to sustainability, responsible innovation, and greener business practices. This milestone reflects not only Samsung’s strategic ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) roadmap but also the collective efforts of its employees, partners, and customers in creating positive change for both the environment and society.
At the core of Samsung’s sustainability drive is its paperless and digitalization movement, aimed at reducing waste while improving efficiency. Through initiatives like the e-queue service ticket, Samsung has encouraged customers to adopt paper-free solutions that simplify processes and minimize environmental impact. Between 2022 and 2024, nearly 360,000 transactions were shifted to digital alternatives, saving the equivalent of 35 trees and proving how technology can be harnessed to drive eco-conscious transformation.
Complementing this is the Eco Repair initiative, designed to extend the lifespan of electronic products and curb e-waste. By making repairs more accessible and affordable, Samsung empowers consumers to choose sustainable solutions over outright replacement. In just three years, the company successfully repaired over 41,000 mobile devices and 18,000 TVs, equating to the preservation of more than 131,000 trees a clear demonstration of how sustainability can be embedded into everyday practices.
Samsung has also championed responsible e-waste disposal through its Eco Recycle Boxes, which are available at service centres nationwide. These dedicated collection points allow customers to safely discard old devices, tablets, and accessories. By the end of 2024, the program had collected nearly 139 kilograms of e-waste, ensuring proper recycling processes and preventing harmful materials from reaching landfills.
Receiving the ESGBusiness Award 2025 serves as both recognition and motivation for Samsung Malaysia to continue leading the way in sustainable innovation. Each paperless transaction, each repaired gadget, and each recycled device represents a shared achievement between Samsung and its customers in building a cleaner, greener future.
As Samsung Malaysia celebrates this honour, the company reaffirms its belief that innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. Moving forward, it remains committed to delivering eco-conscious solutions and inspiring positive change across Malaysia’s sustainability landscape.
