Vivo has officially unveiled its next-generation imaging flagship lineup, the vivo X500 Series, at a launch event in Shanghai. Comprising the vivo X500, vivo X500 Pro, and the range-topping vivo X500 Pro Max, the lineup marks the opening chapter of vivo’s company-level dynamic imaging strategy. Aimed at delivering “dual excellence in photo and video experience,” the series unites advancements across custom sensors, dedicated coprocessors, and software algorithms to eliminate the barriers of professional-grade mobile cinematography.
Leading the charge is the vivo X500 Pro Max, which debuts the vivo × Sony LYTIA L910 sensor capable of delivering a true 17 EV ultra-high dynamic range to preserve detail in demanding backlit scenarios. The optical system is anchored by a 200 MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera featuring CIPA 7.0 professional stabilization, multi-zone laser focusing, and support for the 400 mm-equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra. On the video front, the Pro Max introduces 4K 240 fps Cinematic Slow-Mo, 8K Native Live output, and 17 EV TrueDynamic Log Video (10-bit 4:2:2) with ACES and DaVinci-certified color transformation profiles for direct integration into professional grading workflows.
The rest of the lineup carries pro-grade capabilities beyond standard class boundaries. The vivo X500 Pro shares the ZEISS APO Telephoto architecture and CIPA 7.0 stabilization, while the standard vivo X500 adopts a 1/1.28-inch vivo × Sony LYTIA 828 main sensor paired with ZEISS gimbal-grade OIS alongside a 64 MP LYTIA 610 telephoto camera. The base model also supports 4K 120 fps video recording, full-range cinematic portrait profiles, 8K Native Live, and compatibility with the lightweight 153g 200 mm-equivalent Telephoto Extender Gen 2.
Performance across the series is driven by MediaTek’s second-generation 2nm silicon. The vivo X500 Pro and Pro Max run on the Dimensity 9600 Pro integrated with vivo’s proprietary V3+ and VS1+ imaging chips, while the X500 is powered by the Dimensity 9600M. The series is equipped with BOE 2K ZEISS Master Color displays and substantial power reserves, packing up to a 7,800 mAh BlueVolt battery on the Pro Max and 7,500 mAh with 90W FlashCharge on the standard X500. Running on OriginOS 7, the vivo X500 Series is rumored to make its official commercial debut in Malaysia in October 2026.
