KUALA LUMPUR – The SME Association of Malaysia (SME Malaysia) has officially launched the 2026 Shine Bright SME Pickleball Tournament, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 11 October 2026, at Pickleball Playground, Shah Alam.
Marking a milestone first-time collaboration between SME Malaysia’s National Women Entrepreneurs Bureau and National Young Entrepreneurs Bureau, this energetic initiative builds upon the resounding success of Shine Bright 1.0, a 5KM fun run that drew over 3,000 participants at KL Tower last year.
Datuk Miccele Siow, National Vice President and Chairlady of the Women Entrepreneurs Bureau, underscored that building resilient enterprises requires cultivating healthy lives. Bringing seasoned women entrepreneurs and dynamic youth leaders onto the court blends invaluable industry experience with fresh, forward-looking energy. Teh Gaik Cheong, Chairperson of the Young Entrepreneurs Bureau, added that pickleball mirrors vital business disciplines demanding agility, quick adaptability, seamless teamwork, and sustained endurance.
Spearheaded by Organising Chairladies Christine Tu and Dr. Jennifer Ong, the championship will bring together approximately 200 entrepreneurs competing across Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Dr. Chin Chee Seong, National President of SME Malaysia, noted that the event transcends standard sporting competition by serving as a catalyst for genuine camaraderie, peer knowledge exchange, and new commercial partnerships.
Presented by U Business (U Mobile) and supported by corporate partners including Berjaya Sompo, J&T Express, SJPP, Nestlé MILO, and F&N, the gathering reinforces SME Malaysia’s commitment to driving holistic growth, personal wellbeing, and robust collaborative ecosystems across the nation’s thriving small and medium enterprise landscape.
