PETALING JAYA, 20 MAY 2025 – Samaiden Group Berhad (“Samaiden”), a specialist in renewable energy solutions, has secured a RM45.0 million contract through its wholly owned subsidiary, Samaiden Sdn. Bhd. (“SSB”), to undertake EPCC (engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning) works for a large-scale solar photovoltaic (“LSSPV”) project in Kedah.

The Letter of Award (“LOA”) was issued by PAXS Renewables Sdn. Bhd. (“PAXS”) for the development of a 9.99MWac solar plant located in Padang Cina, Kulim. The project was approved under the Large Scale Solar 5 (“LSS5”) programme by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (“ST”) in December 2024.

Under the terms of the contract, SSB will be responsible for the full implementation of the project, including design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning. The contract is set to take effect immediately following the LOA’s signing on 19 May 2025. However, physical works on-site will only begin once a formal notice to proceed is issued, contingent on the fulfilment of specific contractual conditions. The project’s targeted Commercial Operation Date (COD) is 12 July 2027.

PAXS, a Malaysian firm involved in solar energy system installations and electricity generation, selected Samaiden based on its strong track record in delivering end-to-end renewable energy infrastructure projects.

Datuk Ir. Chow Pui Hee, Group Managing Director of Samaiden, expressed pride in the company’s continued progress “This latest win under the LSS5 programme further affirms Samaiden’s position as a reliable solar EPCC provider in Malaysia. It also highlights our commitment to supporting the nation’s renewable energy goals while ensuring long-term value creation through consistent project delivery and earnings growth.”

As Samaiden continues to strengthen its footprint in the utility-scale solar segment, the Group remains focused on growing its renewable energy portfolio and delivering sustainable solutions across Malaysia and the region.
