Castrol Unleashed: The Search for Malaysia’s Next Sim Racing Star

Castrol Malaysia and Cove Circuit are bringing the Castrol Unleashed Youth Sim Racing Championship back for a highly anticipated second season, offering aspiring racers across Malaysia an accessible and competitive entry point into motorsport. Open to eligible youths aged 18 to 24, the championship combines Cove Circuit’s premier grassroots sim racing platform with Castrol’s extensive legacy in global motorsport. This season introduces dedicated Male Youth and Female Youth divisions, ensuring a structured development path that supports emerging drivers as they transition from their first virtual laps to intense competitive racing.

Building on the momentum of the inaugural season which drew more than 400 aspiring racers and 4,000 members of the public, Season 2 elevates the competitor experience through the newly introduced Castrol Unleashed Masterclass Series, powered by TGR Malaysia. Competitors will benefit from approximately 13 comprehensive online sessions focused on racecraft, telemetry, lap techniques, and track mastery. Joshua Tan, Head of Marketing for Castrol Malaysia, Singapore, and Philippines, emphasized that the platform is designed to transform raw passion into real-world racing skills, confidence, and competition readiness, mirroring the performance-led engineering behind Castrol EDGE.

The path to the championship involves intense Time Attack qualifying sessions. Following a completely sold-out opening round at Cove Circuit Cyberjaya, aspiring racers are now vying for the remaining slots at Cove Circuit Bandar Sunway on October 17 and 18. Participants can register for up to two qualifier attempts via unleashedsimracing.com for RM10, with opportunities to practice on the exact professional simulator hardware used for the tournament.

The fastest 20 drivers from each division will secure their spots on the grid for the Grand Finale at 1 Utama Shopping Centre from November 13 to 15. During this final showdown, the top 10 racers in each category will battle for significant cash prizes, including RM6,000 for the Male Youth champion and RM3,000 for the Female Youth champion.
