Kuala Lumpur, 21 July 2026 – As Malaysia prepares for Visit Malaysia 2026, Castrol Malaysia is stepping up efforts to support e-hailing drivers through its latest initiative, eHailing Heroes, a 12-month programme focused on reducing vehicle maintenance challenges and improving passenger journey experiences.
The programme was introduced through a collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) and Persatuan Pengguna Pengangkutan Awam Malaysia (4PAM), recognising the important contribution of e-hailing drivers in connecting visitors with destinations across the country.

The official launch took place at Rom 8 Studio and was officiated by Yang Berusaha Encik Mohd Akbal Setia, Senior Director of Advertising and Digital, Tourism Malaysia, and Head of Secretariat for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
Under the first phase of the initiative, up to 3,000 e-hailing drivers in the Klang Valley will receive support through subsidised Castrol MAGNATEC servicing, vehicle branding opportunities and nationwide access to Castrol Auto Service workshops.
Eligible drivers who achieve 8,000 kilometres of verified mileage will receive an RM80 service package e-voucher that includes engine oil replacement, oil filter and labour charges.
The programme comes at a time when e-hailing services have become an essential part of Malaysia’s tourism experience. Drivers not only provide transportation but also help visitors discover Malaysia’s cities, attractions, cultural locations and local businesses.
According to Yang Berusaha Encik Mohd Akbal Setia, a positive travel experience begins with the people who welcome visitors throughout their journey. Supporting e-hailing drivers, he said, also means supporting the country’s tourism goals for VM2026.
For many e-hailing drivers, their vehicles are their main source of income. Daily operations involve long driving hours, traffic congestion, frequent pick-ups and drop-offs, making regular vehicle maintenance an important part of keeping their businesses running.

Castrol MAGNATEC supports this need with technology designed for stop-start driving conditions. Its intelligent molecules attach to engine components to provide protection during frequent starts and stops, helping deliver 50% better protection against warm-up and restart wear*.
Gan Wee Kiong shared that Castrol understands the challenges faced by drivers who depend on their vehicles every day. Through eHailing Heroes, the company hopes to reduce maintenance pressure and help drivers stay confident on the road.
Meanwhile, Ajit Johl highlighted that vehicle reliability directly affects passenger trust, as well-maintained vehicles create safer and more comfortable journeys.
Castrol will also extend a 10% discount on its passenger car engine oil range starting August to encourage more vehicle owners to prioritise regular maintenance.
With eHailing Heroes, Castrol continues its commitment to supporting Malaysia’s mobility ecosystem by helping drivers, passengers and communities move forward together.
