PRUBSN and KPJ Healthcare Strengthen Collaboration with PRUPanel Plus for Better Customer Care

Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad (PruBSN), Malaysia’s best family takaful operator for 12 consecutive years, partnered with KPJ Healthcare Berhad (KPJ Healthcare) to host the PruBSN x KPJ Healthcare Wellness Event at Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 (DSH2) on 15 November 2025. The event highlighted the long-standing synergy between both organisations in advancing healthcare accessibility and promoting healthier lifestyles among Malaysians. In conjunction with the promotion of PRUPanel Plus, this initiative aimed to enhance healthcare access and benefits for PruBSN medical certificate holders and KPJ customers nationwide.

PRUPanel Plus consists of 60 selected panel hospitals across Malaysia that have formed strategic partnerships with PruBSN. The network is set to expand every two years to ensure wider access and improved healthcare options for customers. These hospitals offer various exclusive privileges to PruBSN medical certificate holders, including deposit and administrative fee waivers during hospital admissions, exclusive gifts, engagement opportunities with agents, and access to high-quality medical care. While the benefits may differ between hospitals, PRUPanel Plus partners share a unified mission to make healthcare more accessible and elevate customer experience.

Through collaboration with reputable healthcare providers such as KPJ Healthcare, PruBSN aims to ensure that customers receive timely, quality medical care without unnecessary financial burdens. All 30 KPJ hospitals nationwide are recognised as PruBSN panel hospitals, and 18 of them have been designated as PRUPanel Plus hospitals. PRUPanel Plus is one of the key initiatives under PruBSN’s Health Pillar, focusing on delivering the best healthcare experiences through strong partnerships.

PruBSN Officer-in-Charge, Kelvin Wong, said that health is no longer merely a product segment but has become a core pillar of the company’s business strategy. As Malaysians face rising medical costs and chronic health issues, the role of a takaful operator is no longer only about providing protection. This led to the introduction of The Peace-of-Mind Plan, a commitment to provide assurance to every patient, including the company’s four million customers. This promise is deeply rooted in PruBSN’s Health Pillar, which focuses on supporting people when they need it most.

President and Managing Director of KPJ Healthcare, Chin Keat Chyuan, expressed that KPJ Healthcare values the collaboration with PruBSN as it strengthens their shared vision of providing communities with greater confidence when accessing care. Guided by the purpose “Care for Life,” KPJ Healthcare remains committed to delivering timely treatment, clear care pathways, and supportive experiences for patients and families across its hospital network. According to him, initiatives like PRUPanel Plus encourage early healthcare engagement and reinforce the assurance both organisations strive to deliver.

The Wellness Event marked the grand finale of a nationwide roadshow that had covered the northern region at Ipoh Specialist Hospital, the southern region at Bandar Dato’ Onn Specialist Hospital, and the east coast at KPJ Perdana. The one-day event brought together customers, healthcare professionals, and families to promote a healthier lifestyle. Attendees enjoyed complimentary health screenings, health talks, PRUPanel Plus advocacy sessions, and interactive activities including a colouring contest for children.

PruBSN continues to support customers through meaningful financial assistance. In 2024, the company paid out RM1.2 billion in claims involving personal accidents, medical treatments, critical illnesses, total permanent disability, and death. Each claim reflects a real-life story and the struggles faced by families, reinforcing PruBSN’s commitment to honouring its promises when customers need it most.

PruBSN also works closely with healthcare professionals to ensure clinical decisions remain in the hands of qualified doctors, while PruBSN focuses on confirming coverage based on certificate terms. The company collaborates with medical providers by reviewing documentation such as admission forms and imaging reports to ensure diagnoses and treatments adhere to regulatory and professional standards.

PruBSN’s claims processes are continuously refined through active engagement with customers and healthcare partners, incorporating feedback to enhance transparency and responsiveness. Underwriting rules and policy terms are applied consistently according to the Financial Services Act and the Islamic Financial Services Act. This shared approach fosters fair, evidence-based decision-making and strengthens trust among customers, providers, and partners.
