Bolt Introduces Instant Early Cash Out in Malaysia, Empowering Drivers with Faster Earnings Access

Bolt Malaysia has introduced its new instant Early Cash Out feature, allowing eligible driver partners to withdraw their earnings anytime throughout the week. The feature, which is already available in several other Bolt markets, underscores the company’s commitment to giving drivers more financial freedom and flexibility in managing their day-to-day expenses.

Across Malaysia, thousands of e-hailing drivers depend on their daily income to meet essential living needs. A recent Bolt Malaysia survey revealed that over 70 percent of drivers rely on e-hailing as their main source of income, with many using their earnings to support their families. In the face of fluctuating living costs and fuel prices, the ability to access earnings instantly can make a meaningful difference in financial stability and planning. The Early Cash Out feature was developed to meet this need, offering drivers the flexibility to withdraw their income whenever necessary and manage their finances more confidently.

To qualify for the feature, drivers must have been active on the platform for at least two weeks and completed a minimum of 25 trips. Eligible drivers can withdraw their available balance once a day, with a minimum withdrawal amount of RM1. Each transaction includes a nominal processing fee of RM3. This structure ensures that drivers can access their funds easily without waiting for the weekly payment cycle.

Afzan Lutfi, General Manager of Bolt Malaysia, said the new feature is designed to ease financial stress for drivers who depend on daily earnings. “For many of our driver partners, income from e-hailing goes straight into covering daily essentials, whether that’s fuel, meals, or household expenses. This feature helps close the gap between completing a trip and being able to use those earnings. It’s a small change that removes a lot of stress, especially at the end of a long day,” he said.

The Early Cash Out feature aligns with Bolt’s broader mission to empower Malaysians to earn, manage, and grow their income more effectively through e-hailing. By enabling daily access to earnings, Bolt not only helps drivers better manage cash flow but also supports them in coping with the financial challenges posed by rising living costs and unpredictable expenses.

This rollout is part of Bolt Malaysia’s ongoing effort to strengthen its driver-first approach through transparent earnings, sustainable commission models, and initiatives driven by direct driver feedback. Bolt continues to invest in technologies and support systems that give drivers greater control over their time, work, and income. This includes ongoing improvements to the in-app experience, streamlined onboarding, and expanding access to earning opportunities across Malaysia.
