vivo has officially launched OriginOS 6, the latest generation of its advanced operating system, setting a new benchmark in smoothness, design, and artificial intelligence (AI). The global debut marks a major milestone in vivo’s 30th anniversary celebration, reaffirming the brand’s philosophy of “More Local, More Global.”
According to Shi Yujian, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of vivo, “As we celebrate 30 years of innovation, OriginOS 6 represents a leap forward in how users connect with the digital world. Built on the principles of smoothness, design, and AI, it embodies our ‘Origin Design’ philosophy and commitment to creating human-centric technology.”
At the core of OriginOS 6 lies the Origin Smooth Engine, which enables seamless coordination among computing, storage, and display systems. The new 8+1 Ultra-Core Computing Framework improves app startup speeds by 18.5% and stabilizes frame rates by over 10%. Additional features like Memory Fusion and Dual Rendering enhance data loading and animation performance, ensuring that every interaction feels fluid and responsive.
vivo has also introduced an industry-first Snap-Up Engine, prioritizing high-demand actions such as ticketing and multitasking. With faster app launches and a 41% improvement in touch response, users can expect a smooth, enduring experience certified by SGS for five years of sustained performance.
Drawing inspiration from natural forms and real-world interactions, OriginOS 6 emphasizes simplicity, clarity, and liveliness. The new Origin Design System refines every element from color and shape to typography and depth while the vivo Sans font now supports over 40 languages. Enhanced visuals such as Dynamic Glow and Translucent Color add light and vibrancy to the interface.
Personalization also takes center stage. Users can customize widgets, grids, and icons on the Lock Screen Grid and Home Screen, while Flip Cards and Immersive Weather features make everyday interactions more engaging and expressive.
Built in collaboration with Google, vivo AI introduces smarter, more intuitive experiences through features like Gemini and Circle to Search. The new Origin Island integrates seamlessly with Android 16’s Live Updates, offering real-time contextual suggestions and allowing users to perform actions such as Copy and Go or Drag and Go without switching apps.
For creativity and productivity, vivo AI includes tools like AI Retouch, DocMaster, AI Creation, and AI Search, streamlining photo editing, communication, and document management. Cross-device features such as Office Kit and One Tap Transfer further enhance workflow continuity across vivo’s ecosystem.
With the new vivo Security framework, OriginOS 6 reinforces user privacy through on-device intelligence and transparent data management. Meanwhile, BlueVolt technology ensures power efficiency and stable performance, keeping devices cool and long-lasting.
OriginOS 6 will begin rolling out globally in November 2025, with Malaysia among the first countries to receive the update. The vivo X300 will be the first device pre-installed with OriginOS 6. Upgrade timelines may vary by region and market.
