Tune Talk Achieves Full MNO Status with Cloud-Native Transformation Powered by Mavenir

Tune Talk, one of Malaysia’s most recognised mobile brands, has completed its transformation into a fully independent, cloud-native mobile network operator (MNO) through a strategic partnership with Mavenir, a network software provider specialising in AI-driven mobile infrastructure. This milestone enables Tune Talk to operate its network systems end-to-end, unlocking greater speed, agility, and innovation as it enters its next phase of growth.

This transformation is powered by the adoption of Mavenir’s cloud-native OSS and BSS solutions, giving Tune Talk full control over its network operations and digital service platforms while establishing a strong software-driven foundation for future expansion. By modernising these systems, Tune Talk now operates a fully independent, software-defined network that supports faster service deployment, more personalised AI-driven customer experiences, and improved overall network reliability.

The new architecture has already accelerated the rollout of various digital services, including MyDigital ID integration, Mastercard ID Theft Protection, complimentary Personal Accident Insurance, foodpanda benefits, and in-app streaming offerings such as drama and gaming subscriptions. At the same time, Tune Talk’s cloud-native operational environment incorporates zero-touch processes and self-healing automation, enhancing network stability while reducing operational costs.

Moving forward, the second phase of this transformation will further strengthen Tune Talk’s AI-driven capabilities through advanced orchestration and next-generation BSS. These enhancements are expected to improve network performance, speed up service delivery, and unlock new revenue opportunities through more contextual and personalised offerings.

According to Tune Talk CEO Gurtaj Singh Padda, becoming a fully cloud-native MNO marks the beginning of a new chapter for the company and reinforces its ambition to build a smarter and more agile mobile network for Malaysia and beyond. He noted that this foundation enables the company to move faster, personalise services at scale, and deliver greater value through AI-driven innovation to its growing customer base.

Mavenir President and CEO Pardeep Kohli added that the successful delivery of the first phase of this partnership highlights Tune Talk’s commitment to continuous innovation. He emphasised that Mavenir’s cloud-native approach plays a crucial role in enabling the speed, flexibility, and efficiency required to meet evolving customer demands.

With this deployment, Tune Talk is positioned as a reference model for cloud-native MNO operations not only in Malaysia but also across the ASEAN region. It demonstrates how modern OSS and BSS architectures can drive operator independence, enhance agility, and support long-term digital transformation.

Tune Talk will also be featured at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where Mavenir, in collaboration with Mobile World Live, will host a panel discussion titled “Built for More, Bound by Less: The Rise of a New Breed of MNO Embracing AI, Cloud and 5G.” The session will take place at Mavenir’s stand in Hall 2, 2H60, on Monday, 2 March from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM. It will feature Tune Talk CEO Gurtaj Singh Padda alongside speakers from TextNow and Mavenir, sharing insights on how mobile networks can leverage cloud-native architecture, AI-driven intelligence, and flexible monetisation strategies to differentiate through experience rather than price. Interested participants can join the session in person or via live streaming by registering through the official event link.
