The landscape of travel in Selangor is set for a significant safety upgrade following a strategic partnership between Bateriku (M) Sdn Bhd and Tourism Selangor. On 14 May 2026, the two organizations signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) aimed at revolutionizing the visitor experience through the “Safe Tourism” initiative. This partnership formalizes a shared commitment to strengthening the state’s tourism ecosystem by integrating on-demand roadside assistance with regional travel promotion.
By ensuring that both domestic and international travelers have access to reliable mobility support, the collaboration aims to position Selangor as a premier, traveler-friendly destination where safety and peace of mind are prioritized.

Under this new framework, Bateriku will deploy its extensive roadside assistance network and referral ecosystem to support tourists exploring the state by road. Whether it is a battery failure or a mechanical breakdown, travelers can now journey through Selangor’s diverse attractions with the assurance that help is just a click away. Furthermore, Tourism Selangor and its affiliated entities will be onboarded as Bateriku Digital Partners, a move that streamlines the accessibility of emergency services and integrates tech-driven mobility solutions directly into the tourism experience. This digital integration ensures that the state’s hospitality sector is better equipped to handle the logistical needs of its visitors.
The collaboration also introduces several innovative physical and promotional touchpoints. Bateriku will serve as the Official Roadside Assistance Partner for major state-led tourism events, while its nationwide mobile service fleet will proudly carry “Visit Selangor” branding to boost visibility.

To further enhance convenience, the partnership explores the establishment of Bateriku “Safe Zones” at key tourism hubs and popular attractions. These zones, combined with the integration of roadside services as a value-added amenity in hotels, provide a seamless safety net for tourists, allowing them to focus on the beauty of Selangor rather than the stresses of travel logistics.
Beyond immediate assistance, the partnership adopts a forward-thinking, data-driven approach to public safety. By sharing anonymized breakdown hotspot insights, Bateriku and Tourism Selangor aim to identify high-risk travel zones. This valuable data will assist state authorities in improving road safety infrastructure, signage, and awareness efforts in areas with heavy tourist traffic. By combining public-sector vision with private-sector efficiency, this strategic collaboration reinforces Selangor’s dedication to delivering a smarter, safer, and more connected tourism experience for everyone.
