Huawei Unveils 5G-A Vision to Power the Next Era of Intelligent IoT

On June 25, 2025, Huawei emphasized its vision for the future of intelligent connectivity at the GSMA IoT Summit during MWC Shanghai 2025. In a keynote titled “5G-A Powers All-Scenario IoT, Turbocharging a New AIoT Era for All”, Eric Zhao, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei Wireless Solution, shared how 5G-Advanced (5G-A) is accelerating the convergence of AI and IoT (AIoT), enabling seamless intelligent connections across industries and everyday life.

Zhao highlighted three critical enablers for a full AIoT ecosystem: all-scenario IoT that connects everything, ultra-broadband networks that deliver data to the cloud in real time, and smart applications driven by industry-specific AI models. With support from new technologies like RedCap and Ambient IoT, Huawei is expanding device connectivity to support intelligent robots, AI-based inspections, and other low-latency, low-power innovations.

The advanced capabilities of 5G-A such as Gbps uplink speeds, ultra-low latency, and broad coverage allow seamless data flow from the physical world to cloud computing platforms. In a smart manufacturing plant in Guangdong, 5G-connected HD cameras powered by AI reduced equipment failure by 20% and cut annual costs by more than CNY1 million.

Huawei is calling for continued industry collaboration to build a thriving cellular IoT and AI ecosystem. During MWC Shanghai 2025 (held from June 18–20), Huawei showcased its latest innovations at Hall N1, Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), reaffirming its commitment to a fully intelligent, connected future.
