Auto ConneXion’s Commitment to Sustainable Community Impact

Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford (Auto ConneXion) has once again demonstrated its dedication to social responsibility by receiving the ‘Salute to Dealers’ 2025 award from Ford Motor Company. This global honor recognizes Auto ConneXion’s continuous efforts in community development, with a focus on education, healthcare, food security, and sustainability. As one of only six dealers worldwide to receive this award, Auto ConneXion stands out for its decade-long commitment to making a real difference.

At the heart of their initiatives is a strong belief in sustainable change. Turse Zuhair, Managing Director of Auto ConneXion, stated, “This award reinforces our mission to drive meaningful impact in Malaysia. Our CSR programs aim to create long-term benefits for the communities we serve.” Guided by Sime Darby’s culture of care, Auto ConneXion ensures its social initiatives are impactful and lasting.

One of their key projects is the Clean Water Project, launched in partnership with MyFundAction. This initiative has brought clean and safe drinking water to Orang Asli communities in Gerik, Perak. Utilizing advanced drilling technology, Auto ConneXion has helped install a sustainable water supply system for over 70 families. Volunteers from Auto ConneXion have actively participated in this project, demonstrating their hands-on approach to community service.

In tackling food insecurity, Auto ConneXion collaborates with The Lost Food Project, which rescues surplus food and distributes it to underserved communities. Their recent donation of USD45,000 (around RM200,000) has facilitated the distribution of approximately 855,000 meals. Additionally, 25 Auto ConneXion volunteers have directly contributed by sorting and packaging food at The Lost Food Project’s warehouse.

Auto ConneXion’s commitment extends to healthcare access, especially in rural and flood-affected areas. They have partnered with Yayasan Sime Darby and Ford Philanthropy to launch the Ford Mobile Clinic, a fully equipped mobile healthcare unit. A Ford Ranger was donated to support this initiative, while Ford Philanthropy contributed USD55,000 (RM250,000) for medical equipment and supplies.

This mobile clinic is designed to provide essential medical services, including health screenings and basic treatments, benefiting more than 2,200 people in 2025. The initiative ensures that healthcare reaches those who need it most, particularly in remote areas where medical facilities are scarce.

The impact of these CSR efforts has been widely recognized. Isma Fildza Hazry, Chief Development Officer of MyFundAction, commended Auto ConneXion’s efforts, stating, “Their collaboration has been transformative, delivering essential aid and hope to vulnerable communities.”

Auto ConneXion and Ford Philanthropy remain dedicated to fostering positive change in Malaysia. Their initiatives in clean water access, food security, and healthcare reflect their unwavering commitment to building a more inclusive and resilient society.
