Global sound pioneer Sonos has officially launched its latest hardware and software innovations in Malaysia, introducing the compact Beam Ultra soundbar, the flagship Sonos Ace Ultra over-ear headphones, and its next-generation audio operating system, Sonos 27. Distributed locally through TC Acoustic, the new lineup expands Sonos’ connected ecosystem by introducing native AI controls, elevated spatial home theatre sound, and seamless personal listening experiences.
For living room entertainment, the Beam Ultra retains the signature compact silhouette of its predecessor while delivering a substantially wider acoustic soundstage through true 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos processing. Engineered with nine custom drivers including two dedicated up-firing drivers the soundbar outputs deeper bass alongside a re-engineered centre channel that ensures dialogue remains crisp and intelligible. Users can further expand the system with a Sonos Sub or pair compatible portable Sonos speakers as Portable Surrounds, giving listeners the flexibility to repurpose surround speakers around the home when needed. Dialogue clarity is further augmented by four levels of AI Speech Enhancement, supported by a Night Sound mode designed to suppress abrupt sound spikes during late-night viewing.
In personal audio, the Sonos Ace Ultra arrives as the brand’s latest premium over-ear headphones, powered by proprietary 40mm transducers and Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) driven by a 10-microphone array. Offering up to 35 hours of playback with ANC enabled, the headphones operate on Headphone Engine 2 to support direct system switching: with a single button press, listeners can instantly swap the audio feed between their home Sonos system and the headphones without needing a mobile device within range.
Underpinning the hardware launch is Sonos 27, a redesigned operating system built to streamline multi-room performance and deliver deep AI integration. A core highlight is Sonos 27mcp, built on the open-standard Model Context Protocol (MCP), which enables users to link their audio network directly to generative AI tools such as ChatGPT. This setup allows natural language voice prompts such as commanding music playback in specific zones, tuning volume, or shifting tracks between rooms without interrupting conversational threads. Sonos also shared an early preview of Sonos Custom Agents, slated for a 2027 rollout, which will let owners build tailored AI agents complete with distinctive personas, models, and voice profiles.
Both devices are available in Malaysia from 29 September 2026. The Beam Ultra retails at RM4,199 in Black and White, while the Sonos Ace Ultra is priced at RM2,299 across four finishes: Black, White, Agave, and Sand. Pre-orders and purchases can be made at the Sonos Concept Store by TC Acoustic at The Starhill KL, online via my.tcacoustic.asia, and through the official Sonos Malaysia store on Lazada.
