Global AI device ecosystem leader HONOR has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning two prestigious accolades at the GSMA Digital Nation Awards 2025, underscoring its dedication to digital inclusion and innovation. HONOR stood out as the only company to receive two honors this year, clinching the Excellence in Digital Inclusion Video Award and the Best Digital Nation Video Award for its impactful campaign, “Freeze for ALS, HONOR the Challenger.”
The campaign, which highlights Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), was praised for its powerful message and creative use of mobile technology to drive awareness, sustainability, and inclusivity. HONOR’s video competed against 17 other finalists across the Asia Pacific region before securing top recognition.
ALS is a progressive neurological condition that often restricts patients’ motor control, leaving them with only eye movement. Addressing this challenge, HONOR developed an advanced multimodal AI eye-tracking technology that allows individuals with ALS and similar disabilities to navigate smartphones hands-free. From reading notifications to launching applications, this breakthrough innovation enhances digital accessibility and empowers users with greater independence.

Justin Li, President of HONOR South Pacific, expressed pride in the achievement: “Being the only participant to win two GSMA APAC Digital Nation Awards this year is truly humbling. This recognition reflects HONOR’s unwavering commitment to building a more inclusive and sustainable digital future, both globally and locally. HONOR MY Life, HONOR MY Future!”
Beyond digital inclusion, HONOR is also strengthening cybersecurity and digital trust in ASEAN. Speaking at the Digital Nation Summit Kuala Lumpur (ASEAN Edition), Li stressed the importance of human-centric innovation and collaborative partnerships in safeguarding the digital ecosystem. HONOR actively works with regulators and industry players, including the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and MyDigital ID, to promote secure and seamless access to digital services while prioritizing user privacy.
In line with this, HONOR has integrated AI Deepfake Detection technology into its smartphones at no extra cost, helping users identify manipulated content during video calls. Li emphasized that cybersecurity should be treated as a necessity rather than an expense, especially in emerging markets where affordability is crucial. HONOR’s mid-range X Series, including the latest X9d 5G, combines advanced features such as fingerprint ID and face recognition with accessible pricing, ensuring more users can benefit from robust mobile security.
Through these initiatives, HONOR continues to set benchmarks in digital inclusion, accessibility, and trust, reaffirming its mission to empower communities worldwide with technology that truly makes a difference.
