Nestlé Boosts Graduate Employability Through Strategic University Partnerships

In a move to empower Malaysia’s future workforce, Nestlé Malaysia has entered a strategic partnership with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), and the Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST). This collaboration is part of the global “Nestlé Needs Youth” initiative, aimed at enhancing graduate employability and digital capabilities.

The initiative will provide structured internships in key business areas such as supply chain, engineering, sustainability, digitalisation, and quality assurance. Students will gain real-world exposure to industry standards while learning to apply digital tools and sustainable practices in modern business environments.

In the initial phase, 10 students have been selected, with up to 100 students expected to participate within six months. The program also includes mentorship by Nestlé professionals, industry guest lectures, and continuous performance feedback to support talent development and future employment opportunities.

“Nestlé is proud to collaborate with these top Malaysian universities to nurture future-ready talent. By equipping students with the right skills, we’re helping build a workforce prepared for Malaysia’s digital future,” said Juan Aranols, CEO of Nestlé Malaysia.

The collaboration aligns with national strategies like the Twelfth Malaysia Plan, TVET Enhancement, and the Madani Economy Framework, reinforcing Nestlé’s role in supporting Malaysia’s long-term productivity goals.

Present at the official signing ceremony were Dr. Mohamad Norjayadi Tamam, Deputy Director General of MPC; Prof. Ts. Shafinar binti Ismail, Dean of UiTM Professor Dr. Ho Chin Kuan, Vice Chancellor of APU; and Mr. Thiagarajan Marappan, Senior Lecturer at MUST, along with university representatives and Nestlé’s leadership team.

This partnership marks another milestone in Nestlé’s ongoing efforts to create impactful career pathways for Malaysian youth preparing them not just for jobs, but for meaningful careers in a digital-first future. – Tehtariktimes
