HONOR has confirmed that its latest foldable flagship, the HONOR Magic V5, will launch in Malaysia on 15 July 2025. At just 8.8mm thick, it is now the world’s slimmest foldable smartphone, as thin as a 50 cent coin or three bank cards, offering a lightweight and compact design without sacrificing performance.
Even with its slim build, the Magic V5 includes a powerful 5820mAh HONOR Silicon-Carbon Battery, offering full-day usage and fast charging with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. It also uses the HONOR E2 Power Enhanced Chip to improve energy efficiency for longer battery life, even during heavy use like gaming, streaming, and multitasking.
For camera performance, the Magic V5 is equipped with a 64MP Periscope Telephoto Camera that supports up to 100X digital zoom, along with new AI features like AI Super Zoom and AI Enhanced Portrait. These tools allow users to take clear zoom shots and studio-quality portraits easily. Users can also enjoy AI-powered photo editing features such as AI Cutout, AI Eraser, AI Outpainting, and AI Upscale.
Durability is a strong point for the Magic V5. The inner screen is reinforced with Non-Newtonian Fluid technology for better drop resistance, while the outer screen uses HONOR Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield. The back is made from Aerospace Special Fiber, offering 40 times better impact resistance. It also includes AI Foreign Object Detection to alert users if tiny particles like sand (0.8mm) enter the screen area.
Its Super Steel Hinge can handle weights up to 35kg and has been tested for 500,000 folds, which equals 100 folds a day for 13 years. It also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for water and dust resistance, preventing common foldable issues like screen damage or green lines.
