BESarawak, a pioneer in Malaysia and Borneo’s business events sector, recently celebrated the exceptional contributions of nine of its team members at a long-service awards ceremony. These employees, who have dedicated between five to fifteen years of service to the company, were recognized for their unwavering commitment to the business events industry and for their role in the continued success of BESarawak.
The ceremony, which took place on 13 January 2025 during the preview of the LEGACY30 – Business Events for a Sustainable Future Forum, was attended by over 200 industry partners. Among the honorees were Jacqueline Png Tiang Hua, General Manager of Corporate Management, who was awarded for 15 years of service, and Alicia anak Alias, Senior Research Executive, who was celebrated for her ten years of dedicated work. Additionally, Bibi Afiqah binti Abdul Karim, Rose Bruce, Farah Mardziah Zawani bte Abu Bakar, Chrislynn Siaw Ling Hui, Alexander anak Sigau, Allistair Lorenzo James, and Gary Chan were recognized for their five years of service, each having made significant contributions to the company’s growth.
During the ceremony, The Hon. Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, commended the team for their commitment, noting that the strength of Sarawak’s business events sector is deeply rooted in its people. He emphasized that their contributions not only strengthen the business events industry but also positively impact related sectors such as tourism and hospitality.
Dato Sri Abang Haji Abdul Karim bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Chairman of BESarawak, also shared his appreciation for the team’s growth over the years. He acknowledged that their consistent efforts and daily contributions were key to the company’s success and emphasized how their expertise continues to play a crucial role in shaping the future of Sarawak’s business events sector.
Amelia Roziman, CEO of BESarawak, expressed her pride in the recipients, stating that they are not just employees but “legacy makers.” She highlighted their invaluable knowledge and experience, which continues to have a positive impact on the company and the wider industry. She further noted that the recipients would be excellent mentors for future leaders in the business events sector, encouraging them to continue to grow and inspire others as they advance in their careers.
