MDEC Celebrates Success of DEX Connex Programme at Vietnam Innovation Summit 2024

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has successfully concluded the DEX Connex Programme in Vietnam, held alongside the prestigious Vietnam Innovation Summit 2024. This event marks another key milestone in MDEC’s efforts to help Malaysian tech companies expand internationally and foster meaningful collaborations that promote innovation and growth.

As part of its continued dedication to enhancing Malaysia’s global presence, MDEC facilitated the participation of 30 Malaysian tech companies in this programme. The event featured the signing of various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Memorandums of Agreements (MoAs) between Malaysian and Vietnamese counterparts. This exchange of agreements forms part of the ongoing MoU between MDEC and Sunwah Innovation, strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two nations in the digital economy space.

The programme aimed to drive innovation and enhance competitiveness, focusing on leveraging the strengths and expertise of both countries to create new opportunities in the digital sector. The highlights of the event included key partnerships, such as:

  1. Finhero (Malaysia) and Solarvest (Vietnam): A strategic collaboration focused on transforming Vietnam’s renewable energy sector by unlocking opportunities in solar project financing, backed by advanced technology.
  2. Sandmerit (Malaysia) and Wemonster Company Limited (Vietnam): A partnership dedicated to driving business growth in Vietnam using innovative KPI software solutions.
  3. GoFluence (Malaysia) and GoFluence (Vietnam): A strategic acquisition that highlights the expansion of GoFluence’s operations in Vietnam.

These collaborations have generated over RM150 million in engagements, demonstrating the programme’s success in boosting Malaysian tech exports and fostering global partnerships. This success follows previous DEX Connex events in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand, which collectively attracted over 150 companies and resulted in the exchange of 29 MoUs and MoAs, generating over RM600 million in potential opportunities for Malaysian companies.

The DEX Connex Vietnam 2024 event was made possible through partnerships with key organizations, including the Consulate General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Vietnam, Sunwah Innovation, Malaysia Business Chamber Vietnam (MBCV), Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam, China Business Association HCMC Branch, and Innolab Asia.
