Lotus’s Malaysia has once again stepped up its efforts to support the community through its #KitakanJiran Ramadan Cookout. This marks the fourth consecutive year of the initiative, which is part of the company’s ‘Senyuman Paling Bernilai’ campaign. The event aims to provide nutritious meals and essential support to underserved communities during Ramadan. This year’s cookout was held at Lotus’s Kajang, bringing together volunteers and partners to spread kindness.
A total of 600 hot iftar meals were prepared and distributed to various beneficiaries. Among them were residents from several charity homes, including Pusat Jagaan Insan Nur Cahaya and Pusat Jagaan Sinar Cahaya. More than 60 volunteers from Lotus’s Malaysia and the Food Aid Foundation worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event. Their efforts highlighted the importance of unity and compassion.
The event also included a special program for 100 children from welfare homes. They were treated to an exciting evening with Omar & Hana, featuring interactive games and arts and crafts activities. This experience brought joy to the children, making their Ramadan celebrations even more special. The evening concluded with a heartwarming iftar meal and Maghrib prayers.
Corporate partners played a vital role in making the event a success. Adabi, Coca-Cola, Mondelez, Fraser & Neave, and other brands contributed food and beverages for the cookout. Mall tenants such as Bata Primavera and Kings Confectionery also stepped in with generous donations. Their collective efforts demonstrated the power of community partnerships in driving positive change.
Beyond the cookout, Lotus’s Malaysia extended its generosity through a large-scale donation drive. Over RM250,000 worth of essential goods were distributed to 16,000 individuals across 40 mosques in Peninsular Malaysia. These contributions helped struggling families access basic necessities during the fasting month.
Lotus’s also launched the #Cadberi Goodness Station initiative in partnership with Mondelez. Running until April 30, 2025, the campaign allows customers to donate items at 23 Lotus’s malls. As a gesture of appreciation, each donor receives a Cadbury chocolate bar. This initiative encourages widespread community participation in the spirit of giving.
The #KitakanJiran Ramadan Cookout exemplifies how businesses can make a significant social impact. Lotus’s Malaysia has consistently demonstrated its commitment to uplifting communities in meaningful ways. By combining volunteerism, donations, and corporate support, the initiative has brought smiles to many faces.
As Ramadan continues, Lotus’s Malaysia remains steadfast in its mission to support those in need. Through various community-driven initiatives, it continues to embody the values of generosity and kindness. The cookout is a shining example of how compassion can transform lives.
