Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced a significant update that brings easier access to AI-powered experiences for users of the Galaxy A series. Starting in early May 2025, select models including the Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A36 5G, and Galaxy A26 5G will support activation of Google’s Gemini AI assistant via the side button. This fan-favorite feature, previously exclusive to the Galaxy S series, aligns with Samsung’s mission to democratize advanced mobile AI for more users across the globe.
With this update, Galaxy A series users can enjoy smarter, more intuitive interactions simply by pressing and holding the side button to launch Gemini. From checking schedules and finding restaurants to getting gift recommendations or managing tasks across apps, Gemini can now assist seamlessly using voice commands. For instance, users can say, “Find French, pet-friendly restaurants with terrace seating nearby,” and receive suggestions instantly all without typing a word. The update also enables efficient cross-app usage, allowing users to search for a location on Google Maps and share it directly through Messages, bridging Samsung, Google, and select third-party apps into a unified experience.
Known for combining performance with value, the Galaxy A series becomes even more attractive with this smarter mobile experience. According to Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, this collaboration with Google brings seamless and meaningful AI capabilities to everyday life. “We’re excited that Galaxy A series users will now be able to activate Gemini faster and more naturally through a simple gesture,” he shared.
To celebrate this rollout, Samsung is offering exclusive promotions until 30 April 2025, with rewards worth up to RM429 when purchasing selected Galaxy A series models. Customers can enjoy a RM100 e-voucher, a double storage upgrade worth RM200, a 1-year extended warranty valued up to RM129, and up to 30% off selected Galaxy Watch, Buds, Tablets, or Accessories. These promotions apply to the Galaxy A26 5G (RM1,199 for 6+128GB, RM1,399 for 8+256GB, available in Black, Mint, and Peach Pink), the Galaxy A36 5G (RM1,499 for 6+128GB, RM1,699 for 12+256GB, in Awesome Lavender, Black, White, and Lime), and the Galaxy A56 5G (RM1,999 for 8+128GB, RM2,199 for 12+256GB, in Awesome Lightgray, Graphite, Olive, and Pink).
