EMAX Series Expands with SMAX and ASFAX, Creating a New Era in Manufacturing Events

The EMAX series is entering a new chapter in 2025 with the addition of two game-changing expos: Semiconductor Expo Asia (SMAX) and Asia Sustainable Factories Expo (ASFAX). These new events will join the 5th Edition of Electronics Manufacturing Expo Asia (EMAX) and the 4th Edition of Penang Manufacturing Expo (PMAX) this July in Penang. The four shows will run concurrently from 23–25 July at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre. The expansion marks a strategic move by organizer NRG Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd to offer a more complete industrial showcase.

SMAX will be a dedicated platform for the entire semiconductor value chain. From chip design and fabrication to testing, packaging, and raw materials, it promises a deep dive into this critical sector. With global demand for semiconductors continuing to surge, SMAX is poised to be a timely addition. Industry professionals from around the world are expected to participate, further boosting Penang’s profile as a semiconductor hub.

ASFAX, meanwhile, focuses on the rising demand for sustainability in the industrial sector. The expo will feature innovations in renewable energy, smart factories, energy efficiency, and green building solutions. ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) technologies will also be prominently highlighted. ASFAX is designed to serve manufacturers seeking to future-proof their operations and align with global sustainability standards.

Together, these four expos—EMAX, PMAX, SMAX, and ASFAX—form a comprehensive platform for digital transformation and environmental responsibility. Visitors will not only explore new technologies but also gain insights into how different segments of the manufacturing world intersect. This cross-industry integration is what makes the 2025 event especially impactful. It reflects the real-world convergence of tech and sustainability seen in advanced economies.

NRG Exhibitions’ CEO, Mr. Kenny Yong, stated that the expanded expo series now represents more than just an event. “It’s a full-fledged ecosystem that brings together technology, sustainability, and business,” he said. The intention is to position Penang at the center of Asia’s industrial future. This aligns with the state’s ambitions to become a leader in high-tech and green manufacturing.

The event is expected to attract more than 8,000 trade visitors and over 200 exhibiting brands from at least 40 countries. Attendees can anticipate AI-powered tech showcases, live demos, and expert panels. The inclusion of advanced technologies like large language models further underscores the event’s forward-thinking vision. Each exhibitor and speaker will contribute to a dialogue on how to shape smarter and greener factories.

Penang’s Deputy Chief Minister II, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo, noted the importance of such exhibitions in guiding economic development. “This event brings together the global and local players needed to drive Penang’s transformation,” he said. He praised NRG for curating a platform that addresses the dual challenge of innovation and sustainability. His remarks signaled strong government support for future editions of the expo.

With just a few months to go, preparations are in full swing for what could be Southeast Asia’s most important manufacturing event of the year. The convergence of EMAX, PMAX, SMAX, and ASFAX will not only spotlight technological trends but also help shape the policies and partnerships that will define the next era of industrial growth. Registration is now open, and anticipation is steadily building across the region.
