Maxim Malaysia celebrated the nation’s 69th National Day throughout August 2026 with a series of community-focused initiatives aimed at strengthening the spirit of patriotism, unity and togetherness. Bringing together partner-drivers, families, community organisations and members of the public, the month-long activities highlighted Maxim’s efforts to contribute beyond its role as an e-hailing service provider.
One of the key highlights was Maxim Malaysia’s participation in the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2026 organised by the Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN) Sabah. The journey began in Kota Kinabalu on 1 August and travelled through Penampang, Putatan, Papar, Tuaran, Sandakan, Tawau and Lahad Datu before returning to Kota Kinabalu on 31 August for the final KMJG stop and Merdeka Parade.
Throughout the journey, the KMJG team connected with communities at schools, community halls and other public locations. Awareness sessions, quizzes, interactive activities, donations and community assistance formed part of the programme, creating opportunities for Maxim to engage directly with residents and local leaders while promoting the values of National Month.
Maxim Malaysia Director Mohd Hazwan Musley said the company was proud to participate in KMJG 2026 from the beginning of the journey through to the Merdeka Parade. He said the initiative provided an opportunity for Maxim to get closer to communities across Sabah while supporting the celebration of independence and national unity.
The company also demonstrated its commitment to inclusivity through a Corporate Social Responsibility programme with the Tawau Association of the Deaf. The initiative supported 94 Primary 1 to Primary 6 students by providing school materials and educational supplies, alongside interactive activities designed to create memorable and meaningful experiences for the children.
According to Maxim Malaysia Head of Tawau Rizwan Azwanshah, the company believes its responsibilities extend beyond transportation services. He said supporting students in their education represents one way Maxim can contribute to the communities where it operates and show that every member of society deserves to feel valued and supported.
Meanwhile, in Kuantan, Maxim participated in Pahang’s main Merdeka Parade organised by the Pahang State Council. Maxim cars, partner-drivers and their family members joined the celebration, giving them an opportunity to represent the company while sharing the patriotic spirit with other Malaysians.
The participation was particularly meaningful for Maxim in Kuantan, where the company has operated since 2019 and completed its first Malaysian order. Head of Maxim Kuantan Muhammad Hasif Faiz said the parade provided an opportunity to demonstrate appreciation for Malaysia while strengthening the company’s relationship with the local community.
Through its activities across Sabah and Pahang, Maxim Malaysia used the National Day celebrations as an opportunity to connect with communities, support inclusivity and encourage greater participation in national celebrations. The initiatives demonstrate how businesses can play a meaningful role in bringing people together and contributing to a stronger sense of community during Malaysia’s Merdeka celebrations.
