WORQ is strengthening its position as Malaysia’s leading coworking space operator as demand continues to rise for transit-oriented developments in Kuala Lumpur. The growing appeal is driven by higher energy costs and the widespread adoption of flexible and hybrid work arrangements, prompting businesses to rethink traditional office setups. As a result, WORQ has recorded increased uptake across its network of workspaces nationwide.
The company currently operates 13 outlets across Malaysia and has significantly expanded its presence in KL Sentral, now covering approximately 60,000 square feet. This expansion reinforces its long-term strategy focused on sustainable occupancy, operational efficiency, and value creation for both landlords and tenants. KL Sentral continues to serve as a key hub for WORQ’s growth, reflecting the increasing importance of connectivity in modern workplace planning.

Flexible workspaces are now becoming an essential component of corporate real estate strategies, as organisations prioritise agility, employee experience, and seamless commuting access. Against this backdrop, WORQ has partnered with Sentral REIT to launch its latest outlet at Menara Shell in KL Sentral. The collaboration further strengthens the district’s position as one of Malaysia’s most connected and dynamic business locations.
Nearly half of WORQ members now commute via public transport, a significant increase from 20 percent when the company first began operations. This shift highlights a broader behavioural change among urban professionals who are increasingly moving away from private vehicle dependency. The partnership with Sentral REIT reflects this transition and supports a more sustainable urban mobility ecosystem.
WORQ chief executive officer and co-founder Stephanie Ping said the trend signals a structural shift in corporate real estate strategy. She noted that more workers are choosing public transport as their preferred commuting method, and WORQ’s role is to support this shift by offering agile and accessible workspaces in transit-oriented developments such as Menara Shell. She added that location and connectivity are now key factors in attracting and retaining talent.

In support of this vision, WORQ has also partnered with Prasarana Malaysia Berhad to enhance the overall commuter experience beyond transportation. Under this initiative, Rapid Kembara pass users are entitled to a 25 percent discount on WORQ day passes across all outlets. The collaboration aims to encourage greater use of public transport while improving access to flexible work environments.
Prasarana Malaysia Berhad’s Interim Head of Group Stakeholder Experience Management and Marketing Department, Ashok Panchalingam, said such initiatives help make public transport a more attractive and practical choice. He emphasised that partnerships integrating mobility and workplace solutions contribute to a more connected and sustainable urban ecosystem. These efforts also support Malaysia’s broader goals for sustainable city development.
The launch of WORQ’s newest outlet at Menara Shell marks another milestone in the continued growth of KL Sentral as a leading business district in Malaysia. With strong connectivity, convenience, and accessibility, the area continues to attract forward-looking companies seeking high-quality workspace solutions. Sentral REIT expressed confidence in the partnership, highlighting its role in enhancing tenant experience and strengthening long-term asset value.
Beyond flexibility, the Menara Shell workspace is designed with a strong focus on productivity, wellness, and sustainability. Members benefit from amenities such as sleep pods, rest areas, a mother’s room, a games room, and a modern pantry, alongside ergonomic workstations, soundproof meeting rooms, and adaptable office layouts. These features support a people-first working environment tailored to hybrid work needs.
The workspace is also anchored by Menara Shell’s LEED Platinum certification, ensuring strong environmental performance and improved energy efficiency. The shared infrastructure model enables more efficient use of office space while reducing operational costs for occupiers and landlords. This aligns with broader ESG commitments and supports the development of future-ready, sustainable workplaces.
WORQ’s expansion at Menara Shell further reinforces its commitment to building scalable, transit-oriented, and wellness-focused workspaces across Malaysia. As hybrid work continues to evolve, the company aims to provide environments that balance flexibility, sustainability, and productivity for modern organisations and their workforce.
