DJI, the global leader in civilian drones and creative camera technology, unveils the Osmo Action 6, an all-in-one action camera introducing industry-first features, including a variable aperture, a new 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensor, and enhanced low-light performance. As part of its real-world tests, the Osmo Action 6 was recently put through diverse scenarios across Hong Kong, ranging from theme parks and outdoor landscapes to night cityscapes and watersports, highlighting its adaptability across bright daylight, motion-heavy environments, and challenging low-light conditions.
The Osmo Action 6 is DJI’s first action camera with a variable aperture ranging from f/2.0 to f/4.0, offering superior low-light performance and creative exposure control. Combined with DJI’s custom 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensor and 2.4 μm fusion large pixels, the camera achieves a significant leap in clarity and dynamic range. Creators in Hong Kong experimented with the aperture across rapidly changing environments, from vibrant streets to panoramic mountain viewpoints along Ngong Ping 360, demonstrating how efficiently the device adapts to varying lighting conditions.

The adjustable-aperture design supports multiple aperture modes, with f/2.0 allowing more light for darker scenes. In Auto mode, the camera automatically shifts aperture settings based on the environment. A new Starburst mode enhances point light sources, producing striking star-shaped highlights in city shots. Optional accessories further expand creative possibilities, including a Macro Lens that reduces minimum focus distance from 35 cm to 11 cm for detailed close-ups, and an FOV Boost Lens that widens the native 155° field of view to 182° for immersive POV footage.
The Osmo Action 6 features a new 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor with 2.4 μm fused large pixels, delivering up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range and supporting 4K/120fps recording in 4:3. Its SuperNight mode captures detailed 4K/60fps footage with improved noise reduction, producing impressive results in dark environments. DJI’s 10-bit D-Log M ensures preserved highlight and shadow detail, paired with on-screen preview for real-time monitoring. In Hong Kong, the camera demonstrated strong performance across shimmering skylines and festive illuminated displays.
Powered by its square sensor, the Osmo Action 6 debuts a new 4K Custom mode, enabling creators to shoot once and crop later into any aspect ratio, ideal for multi-platform content creation. The camera also supports smooth high-frame-rate captures with native 4K/120fps slow motion and up to 32x Super Slow Motion at 1080p through intelligent frame interpolation. It achieves a slowdown effect equivalent to 960fps when played at 1080p/30fps, delivering cinematic motion detail.
Built for extreme environments, the Osmo Action 6 is waterproof up to 20 m and up to 60 m with a case. Its built-in colour temperature sensor and pressure gauge enhance underwater colour accuracy. Designed for resilience, the camera operates in temperatures as low as –20°C, provides up to four hours of battery life, supports fast charging to 80 percent in 22 minutes, and includes 50 GB of built-in storage. Gesture control and subject tracking allow hands-free operation. The variable aperture also supports closer selfie video with more natural background separation.
The camera offers advanced image stabilization with RockSteady 3.0, RockSteady 3.0+, HorizonBalancing, and HorizonSteady. These modes minimise shake, correct tilts within ±45°, and maintain a level horizon even during 360° rotation while preserving 4K/60fps quality. Additional features include 2x lossless zoom, Natural Wide field of view for reduced distortion, six built-in film tones, Portrait Mode for better skin tone accuracy, and intelligent Subject Centering and Tracking.
For audio, the Osmo Action 6 integrates with the OsmoAudio Ecosystem, supporting direct connection to up to two DJI transmitters such as the Mic 2, Mic 3, or Mic Mini. Its three-mic array and noise reduction algorithm deliver clear stereo audio even in strong wind.
The Osmo Action 6 is available through DJI’s official store and authorized partners in two configurations. The Standard Combo is priced at RM2,079 and includes the camera, a 1950 mAh Extreme Battery Plus, a dual-direction quick-release mount, adhesive base, locking screw, USB-C cable, and anti-slip pad. The Adventure Combo is priced at RM2,569 and adds two additional batteries, an extra mount, an additional locking screw, a multifunctional battery case, and a 1.5 m extension rod.
To celebrate the launch, DJI Malaysia and the Hong Kong Tourism Board are offering Malaysians the chance to win round-trip tickets to Hong Kong through two giveaway programs. The Spend & Win contest runs from 19 November to 31 December 2025 and requires a qualifying purchase of DJI products above RM888, along with Instagram engagement and receipt submission.
